I would not suggest this phone to anyone. I have this phone at the moment ant it gives me so much trouble. The mp3 player skips, ringtones skip, it force closes on many things, the loud speaker is going out, and the reception is getting worse. Take note that this phone has been in an otterbox all of its life, and the only time its out is to take the battery out after it has frozen. Do not get a samsung captivate or any samsung smartphone.

hii ani u want to upadte your samsung captivate use this link and dn't forget doing complete backup.the update will erase your data.and this samsung's offical update link.just follow the instructions given in the link..

How do you download google app's from GooglePlay with this phone? I have tried and it says I have an unsupported device? When I checked their list of supported devices it does not have the SH-I897 on their list?

I will tell you the major faults of this mobile. Some of the mobile have 'SOD' Sleep Of Death problem. Due to this problem the phone shutdowns from its Standby mode. Secondly the 'Return key' does not performs well. Its speaker sound is also not loud.

My 1st Android device and i love it..
Battery life is Amazing with ICS..
More over also got a huge bump while installing Lagfree 1.4 from xda.. Another huge bump in battery life..
Loving this device.. Its the best compared to my Samsung focus.. :)
One Small Cons is that. It has poor output volume when it rings or play music..
Rest than tat its a killer device at the Price Range.. :)

AMAZING PHONE..EVERYTHING BOUT IT ROCKS...By far one of the best handsets i have used...made in korea and made to last...full metal body and runs anything on it!!!!y go for anything else
