Pros: Good/decent phone, perfect size very slim, awsome screen antiglare/sharpness/colors/brightness, good camera and camcorder 720p comparable to point and shoot cameras but no flash, semi/fast app launch, love the andriod home screen and widgets, games run fast/smooth
Cons:heats up under heavy use also when charging, less heat running froyo 2.2, batt life doesnt last all day with heavy use, email app no push, email no copy and paste which really sux, android copy and paste txt select blue arrow doesnt always pop up, no spell check incase of errors and I suk at spelling lol
I'd give the phone a 3.8 out of 5 because of usability and batt, I'm a heavy email user, also would perfer a flash on camera to double as a handy flash light when necessary, with such an advance phone samsung should have aimed at perfecting the phone vs production/pricing so thats my opinion hopefully this helps

@hassan, people who told u there are no ROMs for this phone are idiots and never flashed a captivate. theres probably 20 or so custom ROMs for this phone on XDA

thanx bam bam i hav bought captivate due to its superior looks now can plz any1 tell how to upgrade its firmware? ppl say it dont hav ROM so its not an easy task to upgrade it to gingerbread or honeycomb though my frnd wid galaxy s is using honey comb on his device?

hassan, 24 Apr 2011i need an honest opinion shall i go for Galaxy S or Galaxy ... moredude the only major difference between those 2 phones is the captivate had 4 capacitive buttons on the bottom and the i9000 has a front vga camera which the captivate doesnt.

This is one of the BEST android phones out there, im running it on 2.2.1 with Darky's ROM v9.5 Extreme Cappy edition, Dark Core 1.4 Kernel. Fabulous performance. I have 2 of these phones.

this phone is garbage! my sister and i have had it for about 5 months now and have had to have it replaced already. i won't get my text messages for days, it freezes up all the time, and sometimes it won't let me make or recieve calls even with full service. I normally love samsung phones but i hate this one. I thought maybe when i got the replacement it would be better and it was for a while, but it is only worse now. i hope other people have more luck with their phones

when i call, i cant hear anything neither a ring. and when someone calls, i encounter drop cll all the time, it just rings and when i answer its dropped, what do i do? pls help???? im from the Phil and i bought the fone from the states, had it open lined here
