Battery management under Gingerbread v2.3.5 is phenomenal!
I just checked my phone and the battery shows 83% remaining after 23h 10m use. At that rate I will get approx 5 - 6 days use from a single charge.

bettery time is not good :( i dont know if it is only with my mobile or generally the bettery time is like this.. not even one whole day..

I can't remember how much RAM Froyo used but if it was more like you say then Gingerbread is a more efficient OS that requires less RAM to function. It also means there is more free RAM for the end user to play with.
I can't comment on the GPS as I haven't tested it since the last fiasco where it kept on losing the connection to the satellites and my network. For navigation I use my Nokia N8 anyway, which always has worked without fail.

I mainly use my mobile to read ebooks , browsing and watc movies. No gaming. I need an adobe flash player in my new mobile. I dont like lags.
Does samsung i9000 have lags even after upgrading to 2.3. After then will i b able to install a free adobe flash player 4m android market?
Does galaxy s2 also have lags?
S2 and i9000 has much price gap.Which 1 should i choose as per my needs?
Users plz give me a helpful opinion...

So this give me a feeling that ,the RAM is something goverened by the ROM?
Also I sa your earlier post.Your GPS issue resolved?For my GPS locak happns with difficulty ,but when display becomes off,looses the lock!!!

I tried downloading kies at my local library, but the kies software was blocked right at the last stage by the librarys security...not sure whether the drivers installed.

[deleted post]A friend of mine has a Galaxy S locked to the 3 network and he has been able to upgrade to Gingerbread, so in your case it's not the networks fault. Am I right in saying that Kies tells you "This version of the device cannot be upgraded", or words to that effect? If so, it means Kies doesn't recognise that firmware version and will never update your phone.
Your only option then is to manually update it using Odin, or to visit a Samsung service centre and they'll upgrade the firmware for you if you don't want to do it yourself.

What network are you on? I thought all UK networks allowed updating to Gingerbread by now.
Also, what version of Froyo are you on? Dial *#1234# to give the firmware version.

You can install a custom firmware on it... official firmwares are unlikely though.
