Yes the gingerbread update is available in M.E. I live in Kuwait and I have updated my SGS to Gingerbread through Kies. Just download latest Kies from samsung website, connect you phone after the completion of download and then run Kies. I hope it will help...

When i charge my samsung galaxy s i9000 at 100%, then when i switch it on, the batery is 97%. did anyone have this trouble before?

Hi people,
I desperately need help on this. quite happy with my galaxy. hwvr, whenever i download multiple applications from the market, i dnt get the option to cancel the same from the taskbar. first of all the applications will keep downloading & after reaching 50% - 60%, it gets restart and start all over again and the excercise goes on and on. first of all it drains the battery like anything. i cant cancel the download. even if i disconnect the internet and restart my phone it doesnt help. after disconnecting and restarting the net, it starts downloading all over again and same thing when restarts the phone. its damn frustrating. worst, even if download completes after hours, it still is not downloaded. can anyone please help me as there is no option to cancel the same as task manager & other installed apps doesnt locate this download. kindly help.

Dudets, 27 Jul 2011Hi :)) hey can anyone tell me how to update my samsung gala... moreHi gogle this link www.gadget.co.za go to the gadget homepage once your'e on the homepage go to the bottom of the page and click on the next 20 articles option and look for Going gingerbread with galaxy s,there u will find a simple but comprehensive article on how to download gingerbread
If you dont have the latest version of kies download it from samsung website,once you have opened kies connect your phone to your computer with the usb data cable provided with your phone and kies will search for your device and tell you on the screen if the update is available for your phone in your country and then just follow the instructions provided in the link i gave you and youre all set the update takes anything between 15 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the type of service provider and internet connection you are using
PS Remember to make a backup of youre phone before doing the update just incase anything goes wrong,but kies makes a backup aswell

yesterday i updated my phone to the new firmware 2.3.3
ddjv9.After the update the phone battery is draining so fast.It came down to 20% from 100% in 12 hrs.The biggest drainer is shown as the android os at 49%.Next is the maps at 25%.I am not able to close the maps either.

thanks for supporting me,
I found a way to install android 2.3.3 using a program called "Odin" it could install the official one by samsung for the middle east with Arabic support.
And I think it could install any desired firmware you chooese to install.
I think I will go with this update but if there is any known issue on doing that with this program please tell me allie.

Dudes, just go to xda-developers there are plenty of roms there, you can flash any roms you like.. I'm using daykys 10.2 final and its gingerbread 2.3.4, very fast and stable and very easy to flash..

You must find out from your local S... moreI did what you told me and Installed the program Samsung Kies (the last version), and connected it with my galaxy s.
in the home Screen of the program it says
"This version of the device cannot be updated"
current firmware version: PDA:JPF / PHONE:JPD / CSC:JPF (XSG)
I bought my mobile from Saudi Arabia and I'm from Egypt and I live in it.
So any Idea about making my phone get android 2.3 gingerbread with an official or non official method ?
