I have many applications installed. Many saved games. I don't want to lose it. Will update to 2.3.3 Gingerbread via Kies delete them all? Anyone tried updating without getting formatted? Please advise.

Hello guys,
I am using galaxy s i9000 for a month now. It's an amazing phone.
1. Headphone sound quality is good.
2. Plays mp4, mkv, avi, flv, wmv video format files very smoothly out of the box. so watching videos is a joy on 4" superamoled.
3. camera image quality is good.
4. price is about 23k, so compared to galaxy sl i9003, which is 19k, it has 16gb memory and best display on the otherhand user available ram of i9003 is 478mb
Recently updated to gingerbread 2.3.3, changes brought are-
1. notification icons are changed.
2. in the settings, now u can directly check whether any updates are available
3. the major change is user available ram was 304 mb before update, now u get 329 mb.
4. while selecting wallpaper from gallery, u can select it in either vertical or horizontal mode.
5. In music menu, if u want to see details of now playing song, then as soon as u select details icon, the screens flips vertically, looks cool.

It happens because of a virus . And it was hidden in a number of applications in android market.since android is open source so it is also possible that you might get it from a third party application source or website.now things you can do is download the kaspersky or symantic antivirus for ur device and run a through and deep scan.make sure you update the antivirus to the latest defination. It you still cant resolve the problem then maybe hard reseting the device is the option but this way you will lose all data in your device. And about the gingerbread 2.3.4 , it is an official leaked version means it is complited and bugs free .the same will available after months.but its better to wait becausw it will be easier for you to update with kies.good luck

AnonD-11880, 29 Jun 2011Dear cooza, im surprized to hear u still havent upgraded ur... moreThanx mate.im keen to update and was gonna flash but thought id wait cos the official is suppose to be bug free right.well normally anyway.gotta get rid of this 2.2.1 cos its giving me slow download speed and tw.launher problems that i can only fix by resetting though recovery mode.anyway i got one more question.the last 2 months in my bills ive been getting charged for some (not all)sms messages although im using whatsapp and liveprofile.could this also be caused by a software problem causing my apps to mal-funtion or are orange trying to rip me off.its never happened before.im thinkin maybe its the apps fault.

AnonD-2638, 28 Jun 2011Was gonna flash to GB but since its available via keis ill ... moreDear cooza, im surprized to hear u still havent upgraded ur galaxy to gingerbread hence it is not available in spain ! but don't worry I have a solution for you. first make sure your phone is perfectly detected by your pc while plugged in with the data cable and can works with kies. Then google the latest gingerbread 2.3.4 (This is latest release yet not officialy releases for galaxy s , but dont worry a bit ,it works perfectly ) and theb download odin package. U can find it in xda developer forum websites. It is very easy procidure but just follow the guidence properly that wouls come with the download pakage . Within five minz u can update to the latest os :p I have upgraded mine couple of weeks ago and it works great
