Hi
i have downloaded some songs from website in my SGS. they are not showing up into my Music player.
When i download the songs, every time i have to either restart my phone or have to move any media file in my SD Card so that Media scanning can start and the downloaded file show up into my music player.

Is there any other way to refresh media player in SGS?

    With i8910 you still have best display type and big display too,good audio and graphics chip so i8910 is still top spec even in 2010.

    I still miss good days with s/e k750i/k800/w900 and samsung d600/900/600 all then exciting things to wait for but todays its just wall of screens in mobile shops,,no character or gadgetyness.

              Great news galaxy2 will be launch in 2011,main changes are 8.1mp cam with led full hd 1080p 4.3 to 4.5 screen.+1.2ghz dual core cpu.guys ready for this awesome phone

You know i went to buy galalxy s, i went to a store saw live galaxy s n compared my phone with it, still i felt my phone is good looking n better. Its not that slow atall, amazing battery life gr8 sound, n many other stuff which is gr8, just lacks in acelometer games n some apps. galaxy s is awesome just in display n some features.

                    I have this phone for almost 1 month and I must tell you that I cannot get my hands off of this toy! The OS is very nice, android market has a lot of applications that you can use but there is a problem that till now I couldn't solve - the battery is not even close to what they are saying here. My battery lasts only 8 hours max in stand-by. I've tried to shut-down manually all applications, but I don't feel any difference.... I don't know what to do because before this I has a nokia E65 and even that one lasted better than galaxy S.... can anyone help me?

                            I am not able to view files with the extension .dat, .tif, .jad, .jar.
                            When I trying to open the file with the above extension it is showing that "No application can perform this action".

                                Friends,
                                I upgraded my mobile to FROYO last week, but I don't find much difference and my device hangs some times where I need to remove and reinsert battery.
                                Guess still there are bugs in official update aswell.

                                The following reasons made me choose galaxy S:
                                Super Amoled Display.
                                ARM Cortex A8 Processor.
                                Android OS.

                                But now feeling sorry for following:
                                FROYO Update with Bugs.
                                Plastic feel in my hand.
                                Worst battery life(half day 15% remaining).
                                Average Camera .
                                Average Music.

                                So waiting for "LG B" mobile to get released.
                                It's really the best mobile that a human can ever use
                                with rocking Processor, mind blowing Display and Ginger Bread upgradable to Honeycomb.

I ... moreThe thing turn to mute etc are all based in the symbian o/s which you know you have been using in i8910 hd..If you like i8910 hd then really all i can suggest is to go for nokia n8.

                                    Sammy has a fairly good loudspeaker with good tone but no where near as powerfull as i8910.The only louder and still symbian is 5800.Desire and all htc fones have poor mics and speakers period.

                                    I have had symbian since 3650 but now on Android,i was dissappointed with n8.

                                    Were you using hyper x or faenil custom roms on i8910 or just stock roms.??I have done all that on i8910 and changed product codes in nokias the lot but symbian is so stodgy compared to the fresh new o/s.I still love symbian and hate touchscreens but even i give up and have fled to android after 7 solid years with symbian.

                                    Ok last idea is get a cheap android and try it (you may already have done so)then sell it and get what you want your smartfone to do.Ignore the hype of others cause in the end you are the one using it..My mates have desire,desire hd and nexuses but i choose SGS,why?

                                    For the audio and concert hall settings.I also love the 4inch superamoled screen.It has a medium battery life ie it would not beat N8. The storage is good unlike desire which many complain is running out of memory .Most apps still are not able to put on sd card.

                                    Android is totally different ,theres no folders for a start.

                                    Thats all i can say really,i am not going to say SGS is brilliant cause it might not be to YOU, but ,many swear the htc sense is brilliant,,many say htc desire hd is the ultimate,but even tho i had the money i would not get the nexus s,there is so much more you can get for your money.

                                      I'm a bit confused if i should buy this phone or not..
                                      I have samsung omnia hd, want to tell people what things galaxy s doesn't has but omnia hd has so after that should i still buy galaxy s fr its features or not?!
                                      Like first in i8910 it has turn to mute calls, turn to pause videos and songs(got it done with its official update), 8 mega pixel camera with flash, 2 stereo speakers, awesomely built n mayb etc if i m missing something. So still anybody tell me that should i buy galaxy s with the features it has including the new froyo update?! and including that as many says it hangs quite often?!
                                      Help would be highly apritiated.
