Can we update the firmware on a android phone????? I mean if I am using a phone with android 1.6 running on it, can I update it to 2.1 or 2.2???

I got a simple question on SGS. Does SGS got a notification light? (i.e whenever a missed event.. missed call, or unread message) because most of nokia
smart phone got it. If SGS have the notification light?
how can I active it?

1) your SGS may not be original set, same to the battery
2) too many apps running at the back ground, which will "eat" all the battery
You can download the "advanced task killer" from market or the "task killer (with red icon)" to kill those unused apps. This will definately help to make your battery life longer......... I had to say there is no problem to the battery at alllllllll
I'm using the BB 8520 curve too, and I had to charge it everyday.........................

Re the phone lagging, if you can find a smartphone, which will not lag at all even there were mutiple apps running aft the background, pls do share again with all of us. Even a brand new PC will lag for sometimes, so don't even mention it on a phone device...... To your iPhone4, you sure love the plastic cover tooooooooooooooo

I believed you are referring to the actual sliding press QWERTY keyboard. Why do we need it with SGS as it had the swipe function. It is much faster than you need to have the actual press on the keyboard once you had familiarized it.........

I definitively choose Galaxy S rather then HTC Desire only for the better connectivity through EDGE, Bluetooth etc. and the front facing camera, and the high quality video recording, also the better gaming and entertainment. The battery life too is better in Galaxy.

Go to Applications. It will open the Apps menu, with the top section having 4 x 4 apps, and the bottom dock section having the default apps set in there. When the menu is open, select the options menu on the phone, on the left of the center menu key. Then, select the Edit option. This will make all the app icons highlighted and movable. Select the icon from the bottom dock which you want to remove, and drag it into the applications menu.
Then you can drag any app icon from the applications menu to the bottom dock, and it appears in the bottom in all the pages of applications menu.

i bought it like a week ago and couldn't been happier... i was a symbian fan boy but got tired of nokia playing dumb with their loyal customers. Android in this device is a refreshing experience.

I have bought this phone just a day ago. I am a great fan of apple using almost all products iPad iPhone 2g, 3G and 3GS. Till to date I was sold on iPhone and no other phone settles me but believe me that this phone is remarkable and androids are better than ios and interresting to operate. I think now apple would have very tough experience Samsung has done a wonderful job. The resolution screen,widgets, browser etc are all very nice.touch is very good. Only one thing is battery is hardly hold for a day probably due to a lot of Internet access and lot of processes going on. Just buy this set and enjoy.
