Mithun, 16 Aug 2010I am facing issues with the battery life of my Samsung Gala... moreDont charge ur phone for more than 4-6 hours it Ni-Cd batteries that require 16 hours charge as they only gets charged slowly. We are using either Li-Po or Li-Ion batteries that gets fastest charging within hours.
But I do think that draining battery to almost 5% and recharging it will be the best way.

To people complaining about battery life:
1. Understand that keeping GPS,WIFI/GPRS and Bluetooth on can consume a lot of energy as for GPS(it keeps on tracking,searching and finding the best satellite available),for WIFI/GPRS/BLUETOOTH(it does the same thing by keep on searching for the devices and best available range)
2.Keep black/dark colored(not bright) mobile wallpaper as SUPER AMLOED requires a large amount of resource/power to show the bright colors also avoid white colored wallpaper.
3.Use taskiller,advanced task cleaner or any software of that type to kill those unwanted services that are running in the background. Just like windows it too has some applications that shouldnt be killed, but if u kno wat u want/dont want u mite b able to sort that out.
Even windows have best performance option where all the themes,animations and other performance eaters are cut off,so does every other system.
TWEAK it if u want.
These are the things I noticed during 4 days of SGS.
Now I know some people will say that why should we have Super AMOLED if we are only to put up black wallpapers. For them--> In printers we use 3 colors to get desired colors and more the color we need more ink we spend on mixing and clarity. If u can't take that/bear it dont buy it. Likewise now don't go on blabbing(SGS haters) that I wasnt talking to point. I was just giving an example to understand.

hey everyone...i want to ask if there is a problem with the battery in samsung galaxy??can it last the entire day in case of exesscive usage??

After 2 moths of using the phone here is my advice to other users:
1. Remove the "Daily Briefing" widget, it causes problems.
2. Install the Kies software on your PC from the Samsung site (it works better and saves you time for updating to the latest version).
3. Use a working Task Killer, or exit the apps by using "Options"->"Exit"(some apps do not have that unfortunately) not the "Back" button(right button). That will increase your battery life. With Froyo you will have a better task manager that will kill background running apps.
4. Wait for the official Froyo, it's less than a month away.

Darshan, 16 Aug 2010I am tired of configuring KIES guys.... I am trying to g... moreGet the Kies installation kit from Samsung website, do not install the one from the CD. Froyo is not available yet thru Kies:). Wait until September. It's not worth it to install any incomplete beta version.

Galaxy on vodafone I can download from market no problem the black screens are due to the Samsung touch wiz once there is a custom froyo 2.2 rom out that will be gone. Its the same as having a very nice sports car with a nice engine under the bonnet but with a bad engine management system if the galaxy s was just android it would be perfect but the touch wiz really plays it up.

I am tired of configuring KIES guys....
I am trying to get froyo updated on my SGS, but when i connect using USB connected via KIES,,,, mobile says connected but XP says an error occured while installing MTP driver...
Even i need to connect via KIES to download my contacts...
I need urgent help guys!!!

Do this every 6 months or so. Recharge the phone as rarely as possible.

Froyo will take care of this anyway.
