Pros: 1) Unbelievable light weight 2) Superb screen size and look, (Watch movie on screen such big or browse internet pages, no other option but to love it) 3) Touch sensitivity is very nice. 4) Plays .mkv files ( Most of the HD videos are .mkv)
Cons: 1) Horrible battery life 2) GPS very slow 3) PC connectivity issues 4) Ear phones do not have play controls 5) Phone gets heated when used while in charging 6) Tough time installing .jar/.app files 7) Phone became very slow when i stffed my sd card with 8 GB data
Opinion:
I loved the mobile when I used it initially, bought the phone at the spur of the moment. Its been 3 weeks that I am using this machine and I should day I am not very happy with what I got for the money I paid.
One very prominent feature about the mobile is the super - amoled - 4 " display. No one can deny the beauty of the display. Watching movies or browsing on net is very impressive. But it really pinches me to say that this is the only thing that I liked in the mobile.
1) I had tough time connecting this mobile to PC through samsung kies. tried many options but of new use. Posted on lot of forums but no help! I currently using this as a mass storage device and exchanging files. One major drawback is that I cannot install samsung apps by connecting through samsung kies. Any small APP i have to install , I have to do it on my mobile (Through GPRS or Wi-Fi if I am having connectivity).
2) I am not able to install .jar files, So if you want to play NFS or FIFA you got to wait till samsung kies is rectified to handle galaxy. I tried installing .jar file with J2ME MIDP runner but no use.
3) My phone became very slow when i filled my SD card with 4-5 movies( Almost 6-7 GB). So if you have any idea to stuff this phone with movies to get yourself a break while traveling, I am afraid the answer is NO!
4) On many occasions i tried talking on the mobile when it was plugged, the phone got terribly heated in 5-6 minutes .
5) Battery life terrible, I tried different options by balancing the brightness etc but no use.
6) I knew that there no flash when i took the mobile but I would say it is a major kill.
7) On two occasions I tried to record a video for a long duration like 10 - 12 mins, but the camera suddenly got shutdown. I got very much pissed off with what has happened. I was actually recording some very important stuff but lost all the moments!
8) GPS is bad(running google maps) . My phone hardly returns my current location. Enabled GPS satellite and Wi-Fi networks option to find location)
9) This phone easily catches smudge marks. the screen looses the shine!
10) There is 5.1 suroound option in music/video player. I somehow find the sound very wierd. It was supposed to give to dolby surround experience
11) The ear phone does not have play controls, so want to change a song on the go..I am sorry!
I am thinking to sell it off in a day or two !

Dude buy an Android hands down...Way better then Symbian and Windows...and personally would prefer over Iphones as well...though crazy APPLE fans wont agree or accept that...
I m using Samsung Galaxy S and its awsom...love evrythng about it and especially froyo update around the corner...Both are damn good phones ...In terms of UI Desire probably has an edge as many ppl say but for me nt really mch...
But other features like Super Amoled screen, Big 4 inch screen compared to Desire 3.7...n yea dat .3 does make a diff trust me... battery life, HD video playback / recording...5.1 surround sound...browsing & multimedia is a treat on Samsung ...well latst bluetooth, wlan (b/g/n)n many such thngs ...Its in tru sense is a SMARTPHONE n i wuld say the best in the market today...
Only downside i probabaly feel is the whole plasticy feel of it compared to sloid metallic feel of desire though plastic used is of really topnotch quality...
Let me know if any of you guys here need anymore input...

I want to BUY a android phone (probably I9000 Galaxy S or a HTC Desire), can someone tell me if its better OS than Windows and Symbian. and does it have better GUI and user friendly features than the above mentioned two.

Have been using SGS for 3 weeks now. So far it is doing great for me. I love screen and battery life. My earlier phone was i8910 with HX custom firmware. Was curious if there any modders to cook custom firmware. it will do some justice to great hardware...

the mistake on this phone no led flash camera... i think i'll go to samsung galaxy beam projector... complete spec than i9000...

I am able to connect using the option Mass Storage, Mount drive it works fine. But if i select the option connect using KIES, System is unable to install drivers.
Let me know if i am doing something wrong?

hi, is their any web browser support adobe flash for watching youtube as well as other site's video? skyfire does not provide service in my region. Office comes with the mobile or i need to buy it. i am looking for a mobile which support full flash for watching movies derect from mobile and for working in word & excel. please let me know. ttanks.
