The display is fantastic and all multimedia capabilities are top of the line. It can even play mkv files (HD 720p) without a hitch ! Absolutely brilliant ! Camera is also good and I do not miss the flash. It would have been nice to have it, at least to use it as a torch :-)

I have the Galaxy S for 2 weeks now, purchased SIM-free, and I used it heavily mainly for business. I am very happy with it and it does fulfill all my expectations both for business and multimedia.

that is not full hd;
full hd is 1920/1080... or something like that.
and this one cannot record or play full hd.

prashant, 30 Jul 2010i think it's too costly and nokia x6 is giving better specs... moreWell,you may be right but i disagree with you...the processor is not the only different between nokia x6 and the SGS...SGS is packed with the better and latest display,which is the super amoled display and SGS display also larger than x6...not only the display,the ram capacity between 2 phone also are not the same...all in all, the SGS spec are undeniably better then x6,so it definitely more expensive then x6...

ashish, 29 Jul 2010i like this phone very much.and i have my korean set so i h... morei think it's too costly and nokia x6 is giving better specs than this only the diff is of processor think logically the symbian is the lightest o.s and it does not need 1g processor
bt it has 600+mhz procsor bt along their is a hardware accelerometer as it is also of 534 mhz.

you must get one, galaxy s is really an amazing phone..if not only of plastic case and built, this phone is not only one of the best, but the best phone as of now...

YES IT IS TRUE!
I haven't uploaded a video to the net myself, but there are many examples if you Google for video taking' with Galaxy S.

YES AGAIN.
The Galaxy S will have the update to Android 2.2 Froyo within the next monthts.
If you look at the top left part of the gsmarena page you can see that there already is a leaked TESTversion which is from the official Samsung servers.
Have a look here to download the 2.2 TESTversion:

But it is not advised to use it because it is the TESTVERSION wich is not complete.
Just hang on a little longer and wait 'till Samsung realeases the official version ;-)

I also have the Samsung i8910HD running the custom rom HyperX V7-15 Dutch customized
If it wasn't for Andy (HyperX) I would have sold the phone long ago because of the lack of updates from Samsung.
They just put this wonderful phone on the market but whitout any decent update support!!
So I now what you think about the s**king update service from Samsung.
Luckely we've got Android now, so with the Galaxy S it's not just Samsung we have to depend on for updates and custom roms.

i need a phone with these specs:
Very fast, smooth, excellent for web browser, whit decent camera, and always perfect to watch movies and listen to music, GAMES and the most important, I don't want to experience some LAG with the software........
I have two options, which phone is better for me: THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S OR HTC DESIRE......
