because samsung decided to use such a big 4.0inch screen, they had to give up on flash to make the phone as thinnest possible and reduce the weight of the phone. im not sure how much thicker and heavier this phone would be with the flash and how people's opinion would change if this phone became thicker and heavier as one of the main advantages of this phone is being thin and light despite having such a large display. They had to give up something to gain something and Samsung chose thin phone with light weight over flash.

In singapore, if you port to singtel and order online after 9pm, you get 180sgd discount. For typical voice and data plan like flexi lite value, the handset is 218sgd.
          Cheaper than htc desire.

but samsung will still supply them with the old amoled screens and old processors .

Anonymous, 28 May 2010very expensive and this mobile does not deserve this price! Right, If Apple or Nokia launch the same product it can have this price because they mobiles are really Robust reliable and long-lasting, but samsung devices suck.

HTC is no better at upgrading firmware than Samsung:

                                http://www.gsmarena.com/android_22_froyo_brought_to_htc_dream_and_magic-news-1696.php

If you want guaranteed firmware upgrades, go for iPhone or Nexus One, but then with both you're stuck with weak hardware. It's a Catch 22.
