1) Your phone will be completely clean after flashing v2.3.6VP; just like it comes in the box.

It's not the best video but it will show you how simple the operation is.
After flashing do what I told you before:
1) Remove the battery from your phone, wait 15 secs and reinsert.
2) Restart in Recovery mode (Vol Up+Home+Power)
3) Select Wipe Cache Partition (Use Vol Up/Down and Home buttons).
4) Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5) Select Reboot.

RAY is the guy you should be asking, not me, he knows a lot more about the SGS than I do.
These are the links he posted for Gingerbread v2.3.6VP and which I used:
XXJW4 Firmware

The guide for flashing XXJW4 on the link is easy to follow. You shouldn't have any problems. It takes about 10 minutes (including reboot) to install.
I don't understand why you flashed the Darky Rom when Ray had already posted the links to the official Samsung one, but the latter is far superior.

Thank you for the link on how to update my phone to 2.3.6. My phone is not freezing anymore as well. Battery life is way better. Thanks!

i think ur right i just did custom rom darky 10.2.2 and im not satified with the ram left in my mobile but i dnt knw why its working faster thn the stock rom having same used ram
can u telme how should i go from darky to 2.3.6 :( please gve me vdo tutorial coz i knw im bad in doing the flashing thing :(

First of all, I'm NOT Ray, but I forgive you for that.
Secondly, following his advice and the links he posted, (Thanks Ray), I flashed my SGS with Samsung's official Gingerbread v2.3.6VP and I can happily report that it is the fastest, cleanest, bug free ROM out there. You'd be afool to accept anything less. Go for it!
