Technically speaking, you don't need a custom ROM in order to be able to play HD games. It sounds like you have other issues causing your phone to freeze whilst playing games. Make sure you haven't got anything else running in the background using RAM before playing any games.
I'm pretty sure I gave you the links before to flash your phone to ICS but I'll re-post them here anyway.

You will need to root your phone in order to install the custom ICS, but the procedure is explained in the links above.
Personally, I would go with the latest official JW4 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4. I've been using it for a while now and haven't found any problems with it yet. In fact, it's been nothing but brilliant.

To answer your questions I'm no genius when it comes to anti-virus but AVG is a good choice and is very popular.
To use the Face unlock press Menu > Settings > Location and Security > Set screen unlock > Face recognition then follow the onscreen instructions.

It happens from time to time when the phone gets full of junk from applications, SMS's, Emails and so on. Just like a PC running Windows it's a good idea to clear out those junk files (usually with a reformat and reinstall of the OS).
With your phone, you can perform a Wipe Data/Factory reset and then flash your phone with the latest Gingerbread build.

Dear Samsung Galaxy Lovers,
I am a user of SGS since Oct 2010. I love this phone. I can say that the SGS is my best phone ever. I used Iphone, Nokia, Son-er, even Phillips, but for me, Samsung is the best.
I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy Note. In addition of my need for work.
Anyways, I have up grade my SGS several times. The latest was 2.3.3. It worked well at first, but lately, in the last months, I experience several bad things. The phone is often lag, slow responses, and some times even freeze. I often took off the baterai. It just happened when i wrote this messages. This is the second time I wrote since the first time, my SGS freezed and i unfortunately had to unplug the baterai.
Is it possible to up grade to ICS? Since I heard that Samsung is not up grading the ICS for SGS. Any good applications that I could install or up grade in order to maximize the capacity of the Phone?
Any idea for solving my problems? Thanks for SGS lovers to help me to solve these little problems.
