Hello!I have just bought it at a high price.
I have to saythat Iam a little disapointed of cameraAnd the display doesn't have a hihgh level of resolution but I knew that before I bought it.
So,this phone is a true smart phone inspite of the fact that it doesn't have a high resolution on display and inspite ofthe poor camera.
In my opinion it is too expensive.
Goodbye.

ok, a bit of arrogance going on below, nice rant but a lot of rubbish in there. i'm a pda user and hoped to combine my n95 and o2 xda ll and ipod nano into 1. the fundimental issue of a poor touch screen and fat thumbs makes this device useless to me. i would love to upgrade my rom but as i am a vista user and have no xp emulator modaco is no good. as i am on orange, samsung has no update release yet. so i'm stuffed.
this is a nice try by samsung but for high level business use there are better pda's out there. the new blackberry for instance.
thanks
ban the apostrophe!

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2009China phones are getting a little bit better than this bran... moreReply to Anonymous for China phones:
China phones are cheap and have 2 working sim cards (and they mostly have copies of brand mobiles) but
functionality, features, screen, software of those China phones is actually very bad and it can't be compared in almost every term of using to those brand.
For example they have copy of N95 and by look it is the same, but phone actually is good only if you need 2 sim cards. Everything else is bad.

hi all i am using this phone since almost 2 months now i think its an amazing phone to posses. though i agree with the fact that the camera clearity is not that great but i just love the software of the phone especially the various modes of clicking snaps like the continous mode and the panorama mode. i did face some problems in texting but that got solved when i discovered that using the phone in the landscape mode would make texting a little easier. please dont compare tis phone to any phone like iphone bcos i think the kind of features this phone carries it is way above any similar phone in this price range i think if samsung could have provided for a keypad i think it would have b een rocking but thats ok. please go ahead and buy this phone

It is a matter of understanding this mobile how to use it. And those people keep posting bad comments about OMNIA instead of spending your time here in GSM arena why dont u spend it reading the manual. lolz.

About the radio, can it be played without the headphones attached??
About the GPS navigator, does it really work for actually finding addresses and stuff? Accuracy level?
About quality of sound, when speaking on the phone do you hear the other person clearly?

gosh. Why can't people stop complaining about the phones. I know good products are built on the reviews and comments of the consumer; it's the only way they can improve on the flaws, but you people just complain and complain. Face it - YOU WILL NOT AND WILL NEVER GET A PERFECT PHONE. Gezzzz!!!
Ever phone has its own ability and uniqueness. Its so hard for these cellphone manufacturers to please us. Their trying their best.

Omnia is a type of phone which is good to show yourself off and nothing else. It is unusable when you want to for example receive a call when you have it in your pocket while driving a car, you can't call back to somebody in an easy way, you won't be able to easily write a message etc. There are many real-life examples of how unpractical this phone is. Also the battery life is very short and you are forced to recharge it every day if you talk a lot. Lastly the Samsung Widgets are simply silly and without any 3rd party shell Omnia has a very poor interface compared to HTC. It looks great, feels good but I wouldn't buy it again.

Andres, 06 Jan 2009I agree with others explaining the same... "leave smart pho... morei agree with what you are saying, and said all of these things on here before, but do you know what, no one on here will take a blind bit of notice!!! your post will get lost in a day or so, and it seems no one on here will bother reading previous posts, and will just ask the same stupid questions, and make the same stupid comments! any one who is a true believer in this phone and all its functions will have found another forum (modaco) and left this one behind, on there are houndreds of thousands of people who own omnias know how to use it and are creating and delivering roms, and custom roms for the modaco community! just one more point to pick up on..... there really shouldnt be very many posts on here of issues, like you said, and ive said many times before, 98% of issues are rom related!!!!!!!!! so guys stop writing about 'battery issues' 'screen sensativity' 'customizable widgets' etc etc etc, all you have to do is upgrade the ROM......... get it. UPGRADE THE ROM. visit samsung mobile, or modaco..

I missed one thing that needs the respective attention... the "mouse pad" is amazing. Probably another tool most of the people dont even know how to use. If you have experience with laptop mousepads you will love this thing... just use your thumb to navigate all over the screen, you can even drag and drop things... now i understand why samsung didnt put a stylus in it, you dont even need a stylus with this incredible "mouse". It performs extremely well... even one handed its a breeze to use... very accurate too.
Anyone willing to post coments about functionality please do so... if you only want to post "cool" "cool" "cool" plase go around the corner.
BTW... there was someone smart... 14 years old talking about good things (performance, functionality, productivity)... CONGRATULATIONS!

I agree with others explaining the same... "leave smart phones to smart people".
Almost everyone who is complaining about this phone is just because of things that dont even matter... and probably they complain because they cant understand the way it works.
There are people complaining about the widget, they say that this phone sucks just because they cant add new shortcuts to the widget section. Come on... if you are looking for something that looks and performs like a toy... full of colors and kids like icons, with equalizers with like 10 bands and such things... this is not the right phone for you. If you need something more like a toy... get that crappy iphone with mac os.
Everyone complaining about the phone probably cant even use windows mobile, they dont even understand that smart phones (for smart people)are like a computer and non smart people only understand and can use maybe 20% of the phones potential.
I read a lot of pages before buying this phone and no one did mention anything about productivity... lets talk about how excel, windows, gps receiver, google maps, conectivity, ports of comunication, world time, battery, rom, agenda, contacts list, sincronization with a pc or laptop, etc etc etc perform.
This is a phone built for smart people "on the go" the conectivity is simply incredible... just try the factory gps receiver... its amazing, you have real time tracking, mapping and directions.
Also think about the endless programs you can download to it... i buy everything from handango dot com... there you can find almost a programe for anything.
I can bet the people asking about equalizers dont even know you can upload the microsoft money application, dictionaries for traveling people, accurate gps receiver programs with compass, real time maping, voice directions, rout planing, points of interest, even real time trough a pc web brouser tracking. Lets say you want to keep online tracking of your kids... this mobile alows it through a pc with internet.
Well... i can list a bunch on things newbees dont even consider to discuss about this phone, once again... if you want a device with 10 band equalizers or a mega camera with almost 12Mpixel (like my SLR Nikkon)... then get a crappy iphone (which doesnt even have those things). If you want something flashi with eye taking icons and many many functions that are not productive... then get something else.
This phone is for smart people that understand, can and know how wimo works and performs. All the bugs listed here in more than 200 pages can be solved with rom upgrades and samsung offers them at the link provided by someone a few lines below.
By the way.. this phone does have a very nice, elegant and distinguished stylus that can be placed in the holster of the phone, not attached and hanging to the phone.
One last thing.... get this phone only if you can afford to pay unlimited 3G services, this smart phone was (like many others with winmo) made for smart mobile people.
Most of the issues posted here are user problems... like "this phone is the worst because i cant make it ring the way i want when an incoming call or text message". I really dont understand those who their phones sound like a hiphop or reggaeton concert everytime they receive a call or a message...
LEAVE SMART PHONES TO SMART PEOPLE, oooohh.. and please... people with good taste... this phone is way to elegant for it to sound like a reggaeton concert whe you are at a business meeting.
