All Samsung phone's ringtone starts off soft for the first 2 seconds and then gets louder. I think it may just be for courtesy say you're in a meeting etc. the phone will ring soft at first to notify you

I have found a solution so that the name will show in both a message and a call.

Leave the number without international code in the "Mobile" field of the contact info, and add the code to same number in the "Home" field.

I had to use excel to manage my address book, then sync with the PC

              Uncomfortable to use.
Vey inconvenient to send or receive data through blootooth.
Almost impossible to find out where your data is stored.
Very cumbersometo add a new telephone no to phone

I asked others who have Omnia, their phones are same. What I ended up doing is modifying the ringtone mp3 file, inserted 3 seconds of silence in front.

Forget changing the setting, it would not help

A nightmare! I bought an Omnia i900 three days ago (using nokias for the last 5 years): I still have not managed to transfer my phone book (not to dare hope anything about transferring old messages and pictures)!
                    The manual they give you is H O P E L E S S and the whole setup is highly counter-intuitive!
Everything in the phone is designed around Windows so Linux users can go screw themselfs!
                    Horrible!

Does anyone know how to set the ringing volume so that it doesnt start soft and then increase? Ive got the phone set on melody. Also, the earpiece volume starts off soft for the first ring, and then increases. How can i de-activate this feature???

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2008ur opinion is pointless. the screen has 240x400 resolution.... moreI think the only thing the Omnia doesn't satisfy people with is that it doesn't offer free internet to make free I.P. Calls over Skype with. Dang, if only that could be built into a phone. The the omnia would be perfect, O.K. And I suppose it could do with a 640X800 screen resolution, hint hint... But as long as the touch screen doesn't give trouble like the HTC touch, I'd love to own an Omnia.... Dang nothing much more required... If it had female parts I'd even trade my wife for one.
