NESS, 24 Nov 2008hi for all omnia users: does samsung omnia requires any ... moreits in the review! the omnia has a unique socket for power / usb / earphones which means it can do only 1 at a time. the very good earphones that come with it have 3.5mm as per normal that plugs into an adaptor like pre 6230 nokias did

After having the Omnia for about a week now, I wish they would've made it about 1cm wider for a bigger screen. Other than that I love it!

I have Omnia for about a week now and it works really great. No problems yet, applications work fine, GPS iGO8 is excellent, battery life great.
The best phone I ever had..

I work at Vodafone Australia, the Omnia does not come with the GPS software pre-installed and neither does the Optus Omnia. You have to manualy do it yourself.
The only provider that will have pre-loaded maps will be the 3 network.

The omnia is amazing best phone ive ever had. if you want a good reliable phone then go with the omnia, much better than any N96

omnia and lg kc910 which is better???
cause from the comparison that i've made between them, kc910 is much better.
the price also kc910 is much cheaper
so can you guys give a comment a sincerely...
please dont give a comment about the company but the handphone only..

Optus omnia have no nav software included...I found out the hard way after taking the phone home!
Omnia comes with data cable for connection to your PC. You install the active sync program on you PC (included with the package CD) and this allows you to do all the things that nokia PC suite would do for your nokia.
It's fast and efficient.

Any Omnia users from Australia need some help please
I am looking at getting this phone and have seen posts that the optus version dont come with any maps or software is it the same with Vodafone? Also is there a way that can transfer between phone and pcs haven t found out if ther data cable included in the box and is there a transfer program included like the nokia have

Hello Ivan,
Here are some answers to your questions.
1. emails and SMS work very well using the samsung soft keyboard on the omnia and I have large fingers. Sometimes the phone can slip out of my hands if not careful due to its smooth surface finish.
2. handwriting recognition is OK though I dont use it much (at all really)
3.direct sunlight visibility is below average. I try to save battery power by unchecking the backlight tabe, though this makes it almost impossible to read in sunlight.
4. you magnify the pictures and web pages by sliding one finger vertically (a special slider bar appears). You cant use 2 fingers at once becuase the omnia's resistive screen cannot sense two independant points on the screen...only one. It works very well but not as flashy or smooth as an iphone.
5. I never use the stylus, even with my large fingers. I use it like an iphone so the sylus remains in the box.
6.trackpad works very well, in mouse mode and in 4 way mode...I use 4 way mode and it has exceeded my expectations....And I have oily fingers too.

help~omnia innov8 wich is better? dnt say about the camera.... whos sound quality is better?
