Dave, 18 Sep 2008I heard that there is no 16Gb version of this phone, only ... moreyes there is a 16bg version available but you would have to check your location, also it does accept a 16gb card, so the potential memory is 32gb. but yes you do have to be careful as quite a few places advertise it as a 16gb when the actual physical mamory is only 8gb.

Dave, 18 Sep 2008I heard that there is no 16Gb version of this phone, only ... moreI live in United Arab Emirates, in the shop here they only sell the Omnia 16Gb version.
You can put 8 Gb microSd card, so the total memory will be 24Gb.

I heard that there is no 16Gb version of this phone, only the 8Gb, and the 16Gb is available only when an 8Gb SD card is added, therefire totalling 16Gb. Is this true or does the 16Gb versiona actulay have 16Gb which would be expandable to 24Gb with an 8Gb SD Card?

Also, woould this phone accept the new 16Gb SD cards?...therefore possibly totalling 32Gb?

        Thanks

          Dear friends,

I have one more question. How can we do geotagging? I opened the camera and turned the GPS on but the satellite stays grey.

          Thanks

Phone black out. No need to sent to service centre. I am having the same problem. That is why i gave up and sold it. If you still want to use it, the next time it blackout, simply take out the battery and insert it in again and switch on the phone. Stupid but no other choice. Not reliable anymore....

After using the phone for a week, phone display blacked out one day while I was trying to change battery settings to the most efficient power saving mode. Tried both soft and hard reset, but screen is still not reacting. Sent it in to Samsung service centre on 15 Sep, diagnosed to be software issue, technician upgraded my software, got it back same evening. Display blacked out again when I tried to change the battery settings. Brought back to Samsung service centre again on 16 Sep, no news till now.

Anyone have similar experience? or m I just unlucky getting a faulty set?

How is Bluetooth Stereo quality (A2DP)in Omnia. Have anyone tested?

I use SE HBH-DS205 for my P3600. The sound quality is very good but it used 100% CPU and make everything so slow when I am listening Music.

I hope Omnia should handle A2DP well, then, we don't need 3.5 mm stereo jack.

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2008I think the choice now are between Samsung Omnia and HTC To... moreYeah, You are right. Omnia is the best choice. I would have bought if it has 800 x 480 resolution screen.

I want to use RDP a lot for my business that I can't do something with my phone. But low resolution screen is giving me trouble for RDP. for example, HTC P3600.

If I don't need this feature, definitely, I will go for Omnia.

I hope next Samsung's WM device would be a bit better. I tested Omnia, it is simply a wonderful device.

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2008I am keeping the money from selling my OMNIA to buy Sony X1... moreI think the choice now are between Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch HD. SE Xperia are made by HTC.
From review in other site, Xperia has useless UI. Person from SE also said that the next Xperia generation are not WM phone anymore.
3D TouchFLO UI from HTC are more gorgeous, but TouchWIZ UI from Samsung are more usefull.
I think Samsung Omnia still the best choice right now. If u have a problem, just update the firmware.
My Omnia running excelent after firmware update.

I am selling it away after 2 months of usage. Overall ok, but phone keeps hanging. Many times ppl call but no ringtone and can only see the red light flashing. So I have to plug out the battery and turn on again. Camera quality is lousy, cannot even beat a sony 3.2mp, very pixelated. However, the GPS agis map is good. I am gonna miss tis feature. Anyway, not worth buying unless it is going for USD250 no contract. Cheers

HTC HD or SONY X1 or SAMSUNG Omnia ????

                                HTC HD
                                - a good resolution and large screen
                                - don't like the design
                                - where the hell is LED or Flash for camera?
                                - HTC doesn't know what they are doing sometimes
                                - I love the specs but not the ugly design
                                - how do you scroll up and down?
                                - Touch flo 3D ( well not for all programs )?

                                SONY X1
                                - like everything except the Keyboard
                                - awesome design

                                SAMSUNG
                                - a good size and weight
                                - simple yet elegant design (not like shinny HTC... always d.a.m.n ugly with finger prints)
                                - very fast processor
                                - need more RAM (should have 256 MB)
                                - Low screen resolution, should have 800 x 480
                                - not a standard USB port

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2008I'm in the circle of realistic people. 7000 songs would eq... morePlease leave your silly presumptions at the door – I want 7,000+ songs not because I want to sit there for 200 days straight, but because I never know what I might feel like listening to. I don't want to sit there regretting that I hadn't copied Song X or Album Y to my all-in-one device when I really want to listen to something. And yes, a 16gb iPhone is laughable when the Omnia supports up to 32gb of storage. You are clearly a casual music listener if you think 7,000+ songs is over the top – that's nothing for a hardcore music fan/aficionado like myself. Re your absurd "on the go/not external drive" comment – I want to use my all-in-one while walking, in the car, at a friends house, connected to my home theatre, etc – this demands functionality that the Omnia fulfills but the iPhone doesn't (I already have a 1tb QNAP TS-109 connected to my home network/theatre btw). In future, please think before making ill-informed comments and allowing your blatant fanboyism cloud your judgement.
