Jeff, 03 Aug 2008I a msure that E71 is great phoen. I have the E66 which kin... moreTo be honest, my choice was between the E71 & Omnia and I chose the E71 (bought it friday - arriving tomorrow hopefully).
I've had the HTC TyTN II (Kaiser), Samsung I620, I640 and the I780.
I just want ONE phone now that will do EVERYTHING I want like:
1. Texting (qwerty keyboard or at least a very good touch based one)
2. Email (exchange - i need this big time)
3. Plugins/Customisation
4. Multimedia
5. Internet/HSDPA/Internet sharing
6. Robust/solid not made from cheap materials that will break/crack easily
7. Stable
8. State of the art
9. Looks good
As mentioned, prior to this I've always had 2 phones, PDA & win smartphone, now I just want ONE that will do everything, do you think I made the right choice? (E71)?
I still cant help but like everything the Omnia has to offer (and its so cool), but I do need a phone too.
What do you think?
If you had to choose between E71 and Omnia?
Thanks

Dave, 03 Aug 2008What is the verdict from the people who have this phone? ... moreI a msure that E71 is great phoen. I have the E66 which kind of similair to E71. I love it and it is a great phone. I had HTC Diamond as I said but no happy with the phoen design. So, today I bought the Samsung Omnia and it is a great PDA phone. You can not compair the E71 with Omnia. E71 is great Busienss phone and Omnia is a great PDA phone. They both great in their owen Catagory. If I have to choose between my E66 and Omnia. It would be E66. You should look at the Sony G900 too. It is not a bad phone.

What is the verdict from the people who have this phone?
Can I have a rating out of 10 now you have it and wether you would recommend buying it over any other phone in the market of its calibre.
Also, how good is it for texting?
I bought a Nokia E71 but thinking of selling this and buying the Omnia.
Thanks

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2008You don't own a Touch Diamond, so please don't lie. It may... moreI do not know who you are but you do not know nothing or just maybe HTC lover talk like that. I owened HTC Cruiser which was not bad then I hear all the good things about HTC Diamond and I buy it before I know Samsung Phoen Coming. Yes, The HTC Diamond actulay not problem looks even more beautiful than Samsung but is matter preference in look, size and what you need. I liked bigger screen, I preferd the more that 4GB and Samsung give me today 16GB. After today change my Diamond to Samsung Omnia fidn out the touch screen is mroe responsive than HTC. If you do not know HTC Diamond get hot after 5 minutes talking or using then you have never touch or seen HTC diamond by hand. It does not mean HTC diamond is bad phoen. IT is jsut matter preference.

Jeff, 03 Aug 2008I owen the HTC Diamond now for over 2 months. It is a nice ... moreYou don't own a Touch Diamond, so please don't lie. It may only have a 2.8 screen, but it is very crisp, that you can even read the fine prints because its resolution is high and it comes with a full VGA screen. I you like the Omnia, then buy it, but don't make up stories to pull down other brands to promote your favorite phone.

"The Omnia proved rather fast in the Write operation (copying from PC to handset) but was some 30% slower in Read (copying from handset to PC)"
* PC to handset -> 3.9 MB/s (write)
* Handset to PC -> 5.2MB/s (read)
Something is wrong here...

Oszieuk, 03 Aug 2008When will someone give us a release date for this phone in ... moreA previous post said to call Samsung which I did and they said week 33 which is 18 August. However, as Peter is suggesting a week later. I can't believe it can viably be much later otherwise people, me included will buy another brand. I think what is happening is that after the manufacturers "release" the phone for sale, the networks test them, guage the reactions to the phone then work out what for them is the optimum price. When all that is done, and they arrange distribution to the stores, we then get our hands on the product. Do we all (or even majority) think it would be better if we were given one, clear date of availability and they kept to that save endless speculation and disappointment? Probably save multiple calls to the networks as well.

Yeah, but that confuses me a bit.
Why mention the 256K in the first place when only 65K will work?

Hi, simple question here.
On the Specs page it says: 256K colors (65K effective). So which is it?
