Here in Portugal the phone will be released at the end of this current month. the price will be 479.90 euros with no contract but locked to a specific network. I'm waiting for it.
by the way, looks like samsung is working hard in the firmware field for this phone.
According to mobile arsenal almost every day new firmware releases. Improved software, better performance, new rotating transitions, etc...

I had the F480 tocco for a week but returned it because the pictures taken by the 5M camera didn´t look very nice on the phone-screen. How about the omnia, how do the pictures look on the screen?

Can anyone who has the Omnia already say anything about the organizer functions if it has any? Responses will be much appreciated.

Anonymous, 24 Jul 2008mr ak... we all know that the htc is not marketed as a high... moreI used an N95 hated it and love it at the same time...but most of the time hated it sooo much! I would never in my life time buy a Nokia ever again. It had great function and design but the battery life suck so bad!!! 2.5hr of continues music is all I got for the dumb peace of crap. I live in SG and use public transportation because the average car is 35,000 USD for a Suzuki!!!WTF I bet is what your saying right now! anyways it take an hour to go to school and an hour to come back, in between usage you asked? just forget about it.Keeping this in mind, N82 is not so bad used it for awhile before I went back to SE. SE is what I used before I went to Nokia and is what I used after Nokia, and I am still using it till today. As for the I900 for a person that is so quick to jump to conclusion you should test it out first. The movie play back is great. It is more responsive then the HTC. Besides the HTC dedicated graphics chip and the VGA screen I dont like the look and feel of the HTC. Anyways instead of just saying stuff you have no clue about and scolding others. Be more polite to others.

ark, 24 Jul 2008To say that phones are just for talking is pretty backwards... moreI agree Ark, At the moment I have a mobile phone and a PDA. Combining those two is the reason I would like to buy the Omnia. Why caring two devices when only one will do?
On the other hand I think to understand what others would like to express; e.g. the quality and possibilities of a separate digital camera will be better and more advance that one combined in one device. But I think that most of us don't see the difference between a separate camera and a combined one.

To say that phones are just for talking is pretty backwards.

In my opinion its better to have everything in one, instead of carrying a laptop, digital camera, mp3 player and phone all seperate.

Why dont you guys just buy a cheap cellphone with no features and let the big boys have their toys.

having checked out the iPhone and discovering it has a crappy 2mpx camera and NO video, it seems logical to go for the Samsung Tocco which has the same stuff but a 5mpx camera and video although the Omnia is even BETTER than the Tocco and should be worth holding out for, bigtime.

                    Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Dear RA,

We're all waiting so long, not only you. It has just been released this week in Italy. Most of the rest of Europe is still waiting for this great phone. I expect that persons will announce when it will be available in their country. So yes, you have to wait, but not only you. Cheers!

Oh, by the way, it seems that Starhub is offering Samsung Omnia at S$298/S$398 with a 2-year contract and a S$200 trade-in.

If you are already contracted under a certain category of plans, you can also get it at S$548 if you have completed 12 months of your 24 months contract. I'm not sure if that price is inclusive or exclusive of the extra S$100 re-contract fee, though.

I was told of this early re-contracting price when I called up Starhub to enquire today.

If you can wait it out a little, perhaps prices will drop further. I purchased Samsung U700 from Starhub last year at S$298 with a 2-year contract, gleeful that I got a pretty good deal. A few weeks later, it was available at S$0 with a 2-year contract, along with a goodie bag!!!

Perhaps Samsung Omnia won't ever drop to S$0, but still, it might eventually come much cheaper than its current price tag...hopefully.

Can anyone who has already gotten Samsung Omnia enlightens me if it allows you to take self-portrait using its screen? And how's the picture and video quality? Thanks! - Singapore
