What? SII didnt get ICS? us ur KIES, im in Indonesia and my SGSII is alreaddy run official ICS.. and it had been a month ago.. Samsung roll out ICS before sony does.. U r not up to date man.. Dont post before you check it on KIES, Indonesia and Singapore has same firmware..

I could not even get any satellite-fix at all when using official lpq, and the batterydrain was gigantic and my S2 often overheated when browsing on Internet and the scrolling is far from as smooth as on GB and I can not even play "Real Racing 2" on ICS. Some GB-roms were bad, but ki8 was/is far better on everything than any official ICS, 4.0.3! I did factory reset... both before and after I "upgraded" to ICS, so it is a lie to say that factory reset will fix every, if any, problems with ICS, lpq 4.0.3!
Remember that the first official GB from Samsung were full of problems and batterydrain, so I hope future versions, versions after 4.0.4 that also have to many problems, of ICS will fix most problems, but today I can definetly not recommend anyone to "upgrade" to ICS, it is better to change to a better version of GB, atleast 2.3.5!
I have no problem at all with GB, ki8, and can play every game, including "Real Racing 2", that is why I decided to go back to GB from ICS!

THIS board used to be buzzing all the times
where are everyone
almost a year past, and GS2 still one of the best phone to own!! and its simply amaizing,I truly think for at least next 2 years to come, there would be no major competetion for this phone.
There would faster processors, that is all, usual functions will be good enough for at least next 2-3 years.
and if you happy enough with your, for the next 5 years. its light, good camera, excellent soft ware, easy to use, slik, robust, and it has everything you need,
what else one may want that this phone doesn't do?
I mean something essential?

I need help I downloaded the update using wifi but when it got rebooted ..it sws that update was nt Abel to install ....can I knw wats the problem I did this 3times it still sws the same issue:-( :-(

Hi all. Just updated S2 UK sim free ics.
Questions:
How do you assign a name to the phone, so it shows when you are bluetoothing etc?
How do you assign a password to the phone? If you do not use the lock screen, it seems now that anyone can go in, set up a lock screen and lock you out of your own phone? You used to need a password to set the lock screen in gingerbread.

Hi, im using Galaxy sII, recently i have updated to ICS 4.0.3. i really have a big issue with ICS, battery backup lost and applications force close or messangers log out automatically. Any one please advice to roll back to previous version 2.3.6 it was really perfect.

ICS will not be perfect at first that's why sammy people want to know the user's experiences. Time to time they will update there version. Please address what the bugs have you experienced if you have so. It looks like lies if you don't have user experience and have just heard it from other people. Use the gadget for a couple of times then comment.
Right now, I don't have any problem. Actually I'm on a rooted phone and running a custom ICS. It's faster than my GB gustom rom.

The thing is I figured it out and many of my fellow brothers is still facing it. U might have got one from your brother in law who works in samsung and ordered one of those which is absolutely flawless. We r not as lucky as u. Thats the ugly truth my friend. Do some research and please read previous comments.

I start to doubt you even own a galaxy s2 mate!
you are not clear at all about the exact problem, and just refer to it as bugs!! and minor issues which even the old version had!!
so I am really not clear about your objectives, or question!!
also if you have gs2, and happy with the phone (regardless of which version of software) then WHY do you have problem with my name? I am gs2 fan because I love the phone and it has nothing to do with ICS on board or not!!
be clear and let people help you here! instead of attacking samsung and people , that wouldn't solve your problem.

6 MONTHS PAST since I got this phone, and EVERY SINGLE day I enjoy, and can' put it down, and still learning something new,
I discovered a new world behind this technology like no others,
what is your opinion on ICS, and have you actually upgraded yourself?
my battery problem completely solved tried what I suggested yesterday, 24 hours of medium use and 48 hours of light use, its just excellent!

sabir, I am not sure what you talking about, ICS has absolutly no problem at all, great upgrade, which has transformed the phone compeletly, seen it on my firends handset in action in Germany and he abolutly loved it, I suggest check your setting and your phone, its not ICS mate, its your phone.

guys, what is a rush about ICS
let it run for 3-4 months at least, then by that time all the problems will be sorted, and you will have a excellent version which works well
However I haven't heard ICS to have any problems or bugs as someone mentioned here, it works smooth and its excellent, from what I heard from friends.
does anyone know when the OFFICIAL ICS will be launched through kies in UK?
Please let me know, also please comment about my suggestion about battery, has anyone tried my suggestions from yesterday????
