Please Anyone Tell me about the ICS update in SGS II, I had tried a couple of days back( through Samsung Kies), , but to my dissapointment, there was no Update Found.
Has anyone updated in India.
Lemme know please !!

I installed ics in SRI LANKA and here are the changes
a bit laggy here and there mostly when the phone was just switched on......but thats due to 35 apps installed
Lock screen is awesome
task manager is good as well as the new UI
Every one who couldnt update through kies because it says the phone cannot be updated through kies simply change the csc code to your countrys code and it will be ok
note certain games do not work on ics

There's a message which says 'operation timed out' after I've downloaded around 55%. After seeing the changes that you've encountered, I find the update unnecessary, especially if the fast battery drain is not resolved. At any rate though, enjoy ICS kababayan!

Hi! I'm from the Philippines. I tried to upgrade my SII via Kies yesterday (from 2.3.6 to 4.0.3) but the update failed more than five times leaving my phone unusable for more than 12 hours. So what I did was to go to Samsung service center (SM Megamall)and they had the problem solved and the technician was the one who continued updating the firmware of my unit. Now, my phone, with ICS in it, runs smoother and faster. Some of the big changes that I have noticed for a couple of hours of using it are as follows:
1. Noticeable faster UI.
2. Accelerometer is fast and spot on.
3. The notification bar allows you to kill running applications by simply swiping your finger (left or right)
4. The internet browser has immensely improved in terms of loading the pages.
5. Additional features in the SETTING like face unlock, date monitoring, etc.
6. Improved video encoding/playback sound (from mono to stereo sound)
On the not-so-good side of it, I noticed that ICS on SII is a power-hungry iteration of the upgrade and hopefully Samsung will address this one as many people love and will love their 4.3-inch beast.

After updated to 4.0.3

1 the battery is worst than 2.3.6
2 the screen is too bright on 0 level
3 color not vivid anymore
4 app on ram is increasing
5 the ui not smooth
5 it's not real ics like in nexus
6 wifi & wifi advance setting
+
1 it's vey fast & responsive
2 no pink spot
3 default music player sound is awesome now
4 cell signals have improvement

This update available in Saudi Arabia ? My version is 2.3.4 .
