I remember you wanted to mirror your phone to a computer. Have you succeed doing that? If so, how?

Engineer_Man, 28 Nov 2011Also if some people are experiencing a fuzzy looking image ... moreery eager to see its 1280×720 screen. It is after all the highest resolution screen ever used on a cellphone. At nearly 315PPI it’s nearing iPhone 4 territory as far as pixel density goes. On top of that it uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology which ensures the deepest possible blacks and eye popping color saturation.

However what many though Samsung might have forgot to mention is whether the Galaxy Nexus carries a SAMOLED Plus or regular SAMOLED display. Many of you might know it already that the Galaxy S2 uses the latest SAMOLED Plus technology which is basically a rearrangement of pixels on the display. The regular SAMOLED uses 2 subpixels per pixel whereas the Plus variant uses 3. This ensured the Galaxy S2 had a far smoother screen with very less pixelization. But Galaxy Nexus does not use the plus variant, which results in far less actual PPI than what’s usually denoted. For example if we look at actual PPI, the iPhone 4 has 330PPI and Galaxy Nexus has 315 which is certainly very impressive. But if take into account the subpixel density then the iPhone 4 has 613 and the Galaxy Nexus has 414. Clearly this is a massive difference in terms of overall sharpness of the screen. This means the text will still be sharper on the iPhone 4 or the Galaxy S2.

But all is not lost though, thanks to the massive resolution it more than makes up for this shortfall. If you’re happy with the sharpness of the S2, then you will be satisfied with it on the Galaxy Nexus. I suppose the reason for this decision from Samsung was cost issues. The screen technology used in the Galaxy S2 is quite expensive whereas Pentile is relatively cheaper. Also, it’s because of the Pentile pixel pattern that the 720p resolution on the Galaxy Nexus is possible.

This was more of a publicity move by Samsung because they know very few people actually know the technical part this screen technology and more will be enticed by a HD screen. Either way we cannot take away the fact that Galaxy Nexus does have a brilliant screen, Pentile Matrix or

Also if some people are experiencing a fuzzy looking image -> desktop wallpaper doesn't look right. Go in to settings, display and switch off the auto analyze feature. This seems to mess up the contrast of the display on the phone and the colours are also messed up, and detail is lost.

I love this phone it's a world ahead of my ancient relic Nokia 5800. Then even my Nokia N900 which I screwed up trying to fix. I spare parts btw an1 interested !! Back to subject... The pixel density of this thing is only 217 Pixels per Inche on a Pen Tile matrix. Yes Pentile is no where near as good as RGB, but in all honesty the resolution And the PPI being fairly good not excellent ie not as good as my N900 but in all honesty the the screen could be sharper. But minor niggles aside I am very happy with the screen.

Just hope the Galaxy S3 has RGB instead of Pentile Matrix... Unless it has a higher PPI Pentile, then the difference will be negligeable and would make most people happy. The phone is a power house, everything you throw at it, it just gets better.

AnonD-569, 28 Nov 2011Hi friends, I have a problem with my S II battery. Now t... moreSounds to me like you need to try a new battery and see if the problem persists. I have bought the new 2000MAH official Samsung extended battery pack from clove uk. Now I only recommend charging the phone switched off for full charging & recognition by the software when switched on by the battery sensors what capacity is being measured properly. It doesn't sound rought. I'd try swtching Power saving mode on, reducing the backlight to minimum, switching off GPS, bluetooth etc..

On the old battery on mine I can use the phone for a full day of use of all its features. I have widgets running on all seven homescreens aswell. I tend to use wifi most of the time. I hope some of my advice helps. let me know how what happens if you try some of my answers!?

The person asking about whether The Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus will get flash. YES. One is being worked on. Adobe have said that they will work with google to bring mark these words, "One" "last" "flash" "version". You can google it people. But after ICS I think Google are moving in the direction , well adobe are moving in the direcion of HTML5. Because flash is too processor intensive for mobile web browsers. That an it'll eat up your battery life.

So once Adobe, Google lay this deal to retire Flash, you will see everyone else get in on HTML5, Google already has it built into native support on Android, You will see apple also etc.. etc..

                                      Hi friends,

I have a problem with my S II battery. Now this has happened twice in recent times, the battery drains from 60% to 15% in one sec n the cell switches off. I have to take the battery out and restart it and then charge it again from 15%.

                                      What is the exact problem?

The battery usage graph also shows a big straight line dip and then it again reaches 60% after 20 mins of charging.

                                      Im confused. What to do?
                                      I stay in India.

Hey. Not all phones are affected. But a lot of users can not see the issue even if their phones are affected. I think all the experts are pretty sure it's 99% a software issue, mot of the devices... Something to do with "Colour Temperature"!

I sent mine back under the Samsung warranty for them to fix. I'd advise others to do the same. Sometimes it can be the imperfections of the LCD, TFT or display and sometimes a knitting in issue of the phospors behind the display. But a latent issue nonetheless.

But there are a lot of imperfections on most consumer televisions sets with certain defects whether hardware mostly, on plasma sets, mostly on LCD type sets. These types of issues have always been a part of the manufacturing process. You just happen to see this happening on umpteen mobile devices and the issue of reports are because of the awareness of these types of imperfections.

Of course these issues are sometimes hardware defects and some are just a matter of the knitting in process an newness of the materials and sometimes a lot of times it is software correctable. Cheers y'alll
