The battery lasts 2 full days no problem with moderate to heavy use. And message issues? What are you talking about. Motherboard heating? Another stupid comment. It gets warm when playing some hardcore gfx games.. But the phone is 8.49 mm thin and is dual core.. >rolls eyes< your comments are a fail. seriously get your hand off it.

One of the most noticable thing_
People who bought this beauty from websites or online suffer from yellow tint issue.
Those who bought from stores have no problem at all.
So, do not buy online.

Anyway, about your issue, it's really weird. It's quite shocking that you can't make/receive calls! Whatever bad firmware you have it should at least allow to make or receive phone calls. The latest firmware is XWKF1, it's released on 3rd June in Europe. It's not available in Kies. But you should update it via Odin, google it to download. And for the firmware visit, www.samfirmware.com. For any further information regarding GS II you should visit, forum.xda-developers.com.

I changed my Iphone4 to Samsung and bit disappointed as I get this phone couple of days ago and now heard that NFC enable new Galaxy 2 (I9101) is coming soon in June. This is very bad as what is the fault of all early adaptors and your all loyal customers Samsung? who spend £500 on this phone and now you saying a better device is coming soon just after one month???
I am going to return this hand set this is my first Samsung handset but it was not a good experience with Samsung. Iphone4 has low specs but at least they care about their customers.

Hey.I'm from India,Mumbai.I got the SGS 2 a couple of days back from Chrome for 31k.It is really awesome.Lot of users had the yellow tint issue.Frankly speaking, unless you look really really really close,you wont even see it.Awesome screen.Battery life is good too.Lasted over a day of pretty heavy usage.No heating issues for me.One drawback is that the music quality is not as good as compared to my Samsung Wave.Earphone provided is also not that great.Android is amazing with so many apps in the Market.

I was reading through the comments (or more like the arguments) and it seems you know a bit more about the GS II. I have a question for you (or anyone else who might have experienced this and has figured out a way to fix it)
I got my GS II about 3 weeks ago here in the Netherlands and it's currently running GINGERBREAD.XWKE1 a couple of days ago my GS II was acting up. I couldn't receive any calls nor make any. It wasn't my carrier, it was the phone itself. So I decided to see if there was a update for my phone. I've heard everything from a KE2 to a KE4 and even a KE7...are these actual updates, firmwares...etc. and why is it that I can't find them when I do a Software Update -> Check for update from the phone itself?
Also, I tried to do it via Keis and the latest it gives me is KE2...however when I try to do the update, my phone loses connection to the laptop/Kies and nothing happends.
Someone, ANYONE, please help! I'm no expert and I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance!
