Gsmarena should update the galaxy S3 specifications and remove the line "Planned upgrade to v4.4.2 Kitkat".
It could be absolutely misleading for people who might buy thinking they 'll get a kitkat update on their s3 in the future, which is not going to happen.

according to gsmarena this unit and the s3 mini won't be getting any kitkat update. go ahead to the news section if you want. if you have questions talk to gsmarena team or any of samsumg officials they interviewed.

u hve to root it for cyanmogen mode , 4.3 is gud enough but if samsung wil be fix all the bugs on it and battery drain problem

Do you even remember when last the SII got an update?
Do you know how far from lunch date it was when the SII got it last update?
Learn from history, follow patterns. The SII got no updates in the lifetime of the S4. So you keep dreaming that the SIII I9300 will get updated in the lifetime of the S5. And keep believing that no news directly from Samsung is a good sign. LOL

It's the end of the road of samsung s3 and its biggest history and brought good name to them,and samsung forced samsung s3 to commit suicide.atleast you should have updated to 4.4 update and made to end s3.Hate you samsung i will never ever buy samsung smart phones in future.

If I had to buy an Android phone for a friend in the SIII price range.
My list would be in the order below.
1. HTC ONE X+
2. LG NEXUS 4 16gb version
3. ONE X
4. Samsung SIII (it would have been 3rd if it didn’t have the Touch Wizz a.k.a (Touch Piss) U.I.
5. Motorola Moto G 16GB (this is on the list because it’s real cheap and still manages not to be total crap.)

Don't believe these kind of news users. Samsung never told it had stopped updating s3..a bit of pdf sheets papers leaked from outside source s3 is not in updating list. If u get the update in future u throw your phone in trash bin runway.
