I don't ... moreYo. That's not the case for me and everyone I know with a SIII.
I wish it would show up as a flash or Hard drive.
But instead it shows up as a portable device or a camera. Which means I can't save directly from a program on the PC to the phone like I could with windows mobile.
I have to save from the program to my hard drive then use explore to drag & drop to the phone.
It also means I cant edit files on my phone from the pc just by connecting the phone.
Yet another thing I could do on old windows mobile.
And I had to download the drivers for my pc to recognize it. It was not plug and play.

First since when you were using(™)?
I don't think there's anything wrong with Kies, I don't have problem with it and beside S3 don't need any additional softwares for PC to recognised itself. S3 is just plug and play on any PC, it will shown as any flash or HHD drive in pc.

The IMEI number you posted only contained 14 digits. Every official IMEI number contains 15. If you are getting the response you claim then I'm afraid your phone is let's say...... suspicious?

Enter your 15 digit IMEI number (ignoring the /01 at the end) in the search box and press 'Analyse'.
