Setting it up for her i c... moreHi if you go to phone settings,then phone profiles,then select profiles,select normal.from there you can change ringtone and message tones.scroll across to message.select message alert.from there you can scroll to music folder and select music. any song or tone has to be in music folder on the phone,to be able to use it .

There is no visible sign to show whether the phone is on or off. Does anyone know how to keep the display screen on permanently when the phone is on?

i'm a new user of the j700 unit, i'm just wondering why cant i hear music, ringing or message tone while it is slide up.bt when i slide it down everything works fine.is it a feature? can i adjust this setting? or my unit is defective? pls help.tnx

Video Trouble, 25 Oct 2008Although the phone specs say that mp4 and 3gp are supported... moreHi guys.. just learned an hour ago how to play video mp4 to this phone.
You Should convert your video to Mobile Mpeg-4 Movie (*.mp4) with video size 176x144 (important set-up).
please take note that mp4 has a lot of version. since were using mobile phone.. make sure u convert ur video to Mobile Mp4.
another important reminder.. make sure to open the slide when transferring your file to your phone.
Now i fully enjoy my new samsung j700.

ok this question has arisen before but no answer, the only thing i don't like is you don't seem to be able to play music without sending it to a playlist which is limited to four at thirty tracks each, 2gb memory card will hold loads more than that.if you try to play an album straight off the memory card it only plays the one track, also when i send an album to playlist it shuffles them all up(shuffle turned off).Can't seem to find any settings to solve these problems.also how do you cancel a ringtone you put on and return to default, am growing to hate a fave song now

Select either the one you're using now, or others to change them, you can scroll through all the settings left to right, etc.
Yes, the default ringtones are a bit shabby, but you can use custom mp3's aswell.

Just bought this for my daughter. Setting it up for her i couldn't find anywhere on it regarding text msg tones or ring tones. Surely she wont have to put up with the default message alert tone. I cant find it anywhere. Am i missing something?

You may not be able to send mms messages on a phone if it has been unblocked
