Just now i compare the star 5233 & 5530XM.
Price difference is 2,800 Rs, so i can wait for 5530.
Kinetic scrolling is not a problem for 5530XM, it can be made just by future frimware updates.
5530XM also has accelerometer, 3.2mpix with led flash, 3D surround sound thru loudspeakers, there is metallic finish, wifi receiver, contacts bar upto 20 in homescreen and three modes of homescreen available, 4gb card included, ovi suite, tons of apps and games available, new transition effects in S60 UI, stylus included, and lot more to told about 5530XM.
So, i can wait.
5233 star is nice but after the release of 5530XM may kill this samsung star.....,.

Download Samsung PC Suite from samsung site, uninstall the current version you have and then install new downloaded version. Hope this work for you as well..

I am facing the same issue as Dana, I am able to use phone in mass storage mode but PC Suite is not detecting my Phone......Please Help....

hello.i am from roumania i bought s5230 one week ago and until now i can't transfer any file from my pc to my phone because the samsung new pc program doesn't find him.i've got cable usb and if i select a foto from my pc and i want to send her in my phone i press search and i have no rezult.i wonder if i have to select something or edit in my phone menu? please help me

It shows 2295 char while typing sms.
just subtract 160 from it dude..... (hehehe)
and u'll know the limit of 1 sms
(2295-160 = 2135)
keep typing untill char stays above 2135.......
(Plus, when u r done with msg typing, just see above the space where senders name appears, it shows u the count of no. of messages (i.e. 1/15 or 2/15) there u'll know how many msgs u've made...

5530Xm definately has 3pts up than STAR,
1. Music Q 2. Symbian OS 3. Wifi
but it is bound to loose ground in front of star on following pts
1. Delay in OS (Same prob with all S60 phones), u press a button & wait for 5-10 sec (minimum) for anything to appear on screen (hehehe)
2. Same boring user interface
3. No kinetic motion while scrolling (as in iPhone, Cookie,STAR etc) 4. Touchscreen sensitivity
5. No widgets 6. only one home screen(STAR has 3)
7. Camera Q 8. No photo contacts
9. No accelerometer based Gallery 10. High price
11. They'll giving 4gb card free & increasing th price, instead, in STAR u cn buy 4 gb card @just 350-400Rs.
U still wanna wait for nokia 5530???

Star vs 5530XM(nokia)
It like comparing the Alto vs i10
the price difference is huge the Star sells for Rs.9000(8800 in my city) or lower Nokia 5530 will sell for atleast Rs.13000
So if hav the money & can wait wait,,,
if u dont want to spend abt 30% more
for some apps u will use once or twice
& get stuck with a bad camera u will used every once in a while go ahead buy the 5530

SD cards are rated by class (not just MicroSD)
A Class 2 means a card with a speed of 2 MB/s or higher is guaranteed at the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied.
Class 4 - 4MB/s
Class 6 - 6MB/s
Class 10 - 22MB/s

dont use 25Fps for ripping
15 frames/s is more than enough
