Samsung S5230 Star

I currently own a nokia N73. Its got great features: an excellent camera, great audio, etc. But its really slow and it stopped working recently, so i'm looking for a new phone. Is the sound quality of samsung s5230 as good as n73? and the camera? and is software (games/ applications) easily available for s5230?

want to go at a range around ... moreif u're buying a phone for the first time, i'd suggest u go for a phone with a keypad. nokia is preferred since its interface is so simple and needs no guidance, once u've gone through ur instruction manual.
otherwise samsung star is perfect. but i guess touchscreen phones are not for inexperienced hands.

main thing is t... morehi kashyap... dats a difficult question u've posted. i'll try my best.
first of all, phone book and internet can be accessed from ANY phone nowadays. i've done a lot of orkut-ing from a friend's nokia 2626, which costs rs.2000. hehe
nokia 5130 and samsung s5230 are totally different. u can't compare both of dem. where 5130 has a 2 inch display, samsung's got a 3 inch display. plus a better cam (2 mpix vs 3.2 mpix).
however from my experience, music in expressmusic phones are generally better than samsung phones (if u use third party headsets). speaker quality on 5130 is exceptionally loud and clear.
5130 is much cheaper than samsung. its around rs.5500, almost half that of s5230.
i thought u were speaking about 5310 and not 5130. check it again. anyway both have same features, the former (5310) is rs.8800, the latter (5130) being rs.5500.
now for ur third demand... softwares like iphone. this word IPHONE is a very heavy word u know (no pun intended). firstly u won't get any softwares for s5230 directly. u have to change its firmware or sumthing like dat.
u will get a lot of softwares for nokia 5130, since it runs on symbian 40 OS. but its FAAAAAR from iphone softwares.
if u mean flipping thru photos, menus and numbers by sweeping ur finger accross the screen, then its present here in samsung s5230.
however if u critically speak about exact iphone like softwares, i'd suggest u go with "HTC P3400i GENE". i guess its still available though i'm not sure. it costs rs.9800. has touch screen (2.8 inch), runs a windows mobile platform, and yes, u can customize it to appear and work EXACTLY and PERFECTLY like the iphone. a lot of softwares are available due to a windows OS.

yes u can change the alarm tone to a ringtone or singtone of ur choice. but im using that "MORNING RAGA" tone. its gud.

But 5330 is Nokia + S... morefrom the options that u've provided i guess samsung s5600 and s5603 are the same but different names for different countries. like s5230 in india is s5233A.
anyway 5230 is much better in all respects than s5600 apart from 3G. so since u need 3G go for s5600.

king, 05 Jul 2009hey i finally solved the alarm problem in my fone. its ring... morelife's too short hee he ! :-)
At least you can shut it up by pressing any button then thats good.
Can you change the tone for an mp3 one by the way on a wake up alarm or do u have to have the standard tone?

mj, 05 Jul 2009king is it normal to have vibrates when you touch something... moreno gprs does not start unless u go to the browser. the moment u exit the browser, gprs is automatically cut off.

yeah its irritating i agree.
1.in the idle screen (dats the main screen with the wallpaper), just press the volume button.
2.the settings of this vibration and beep sound is shown.
3.press the "DOWN" volume. set sound to zero. then tap on vibration. set it to zero. simple!!

go with nokia 5530 (dats wat i recommend).
anyway i use creative ep-630 headphones with this samsung star, and the music is great. but i got a greater performance when i used to connect this to my previous fone, the nokia 5300 xpressmusic.
n nokia 5530 has 3G n all those office features u mentioned. plus a 3.2 mpix cam with flash n carl zeiss optics.

s5233 vs s5603 vs "you tell me" vs s5600v Blade
s5233 - beats s5603 for because of qwerty and bigger screen( better aspect ratio)
s5603 - 16M colors, Capacitative screen, 3G (will be real handy when it comes, I don't wanna regret not being able to use skype and stuff), It has LED flash
*I really want a pdf reader to be able to read ebooks.
*I want to watch movies.
*I'm planning on getting 8GB. A friend tested with 7.6GB full no problems.. only Symbian phones have that prob.. anyway..
* Creative ep -830 or better..
