Got this phone just over 2 weeks ago and it is one of the best phones i ever had!!!! At the start i wasn't sure about making the switch to a touch screen phone but I'm really happy with my decision,this is a top class phone with great spec. and i would highly recommend it!!!!!!!

Hi all.. I bought this star today and i had a trouble with modem driver instalation.. I could'nt connect & sync my phone with my notebook.. Anybody please help me.... I couldn't import my phonebook from outlok..
Help Me plizz..

as i'... morehi briggy... yeah i myself suffered a lot with this problem but luckily i got the solution after sumtime... actually the instruction manual of the fone does'nt help at all...
well here's the solution:
1.go to main menu. select "MESSAGES".
2.scroll down to "SETTINGS". click on "SETTINGS". then click on "TEXT MESSAGES". then click on "SENDING OPTIONS".
3.click on the option below "CHARACTER SUPPORT".
set it to "AUTOMATIC". if it is set to "UNICODE" the problem u mentioned will happen.

hey anuj thanx for your reply!! glad tlo know the stylus isnt required.. was a bit worried that it might look funny carrying a stylus in one hand and the phone in the other.. but by the looks off it i can leave the stylus at home!! by the way how do u convert movies into which format to be able to watch them on the fone??

hey devinder, king, anyone who mastered this fone,
as i've said before this fone rocks!!! highly recommended.
just need your support on texting. here in the Philippines, usual text message has 160 characters maximum in it (including spaces). when you type more than this number of characters, it would be sent out as more than one text message depending on the total number of characters in it (with each message having only 160 characters). on Star, when I have around 100 characters, the phone always says that the message would be sent out as more than 1 message!! when i checked on the recipient fone, the text is just 1 message. any idea what's wrong here?? never experienced this on my SE & Nokia phones, even in my China-made phone.
also, noticed that i have low signal?? this is a quad-band fonr isn't it?? so reception should be good.. any tweaks i have to make?? i didn't experience this with my other phones having the same network before.

but again, overall, this phone is very good for its price.. a must buy!

I bought the tocco lite last week and I LOVE IT! the touch screen is so much more responsive than any other touch screen that i have used, it has a lovely bright screen and texting is so easy with the full qwerty keyboard, if you're considering a samsung, I give this one 10/10!

This phone has everythin i need .. just put a 4/8 gb card and off you go .. amazing sound quality ..
just if someone can help me with the leather case .. it somehow is not coming on the phone properly ..

Friends i used bluetooth stereo headset bh1000 (rs1500) with star. the sound quality is amazing but the problem is that it disconnects after 1 or 2 minutes. this same problem i had with samsung d780. the headset is working perfect with laptop so no problem with headset. anyone else facing problem with bluetooth stereo headset. experts comment please.

yes i agree most samsungs have that problem becoz the ports are L-shaped bent type, which becomes loose after a few days. but this model has a straight port, so it should'nt give u problems. dat includes ur headphones. everything's perfect.
u should visit a service centre.

indirect answer: in themes what do u get??
1.wallpaper
2.main menu background image
3.sub-menu background image.
4.ringtones
5.new menu icons
6.screensaver
u can achieve most of these separately without using theme:
1.3 wallpapers u can set. use irfanview software to join 3 wallpapers to panorama.
2.u can set the main menu background image from display settings.
3.no u can't have sub-menu background image.
4.there are a lot of customizations available for ringtones so u don't need the theme ones.
5.again the main menu is flash type main menu, so yet no new icons... but after u put a background image the menu looks quite good with the old icons itself.
6.no screensaver... neway dats good on the battery side.
so the only thing u miss in thmes are sub-menu background images and new icons...
neway not much can be done about it. since the OS is linux based and samsung yet has'nt released a theme-maker...

rihsi, 22 Jun 2009i have one prblm, whnever i listen to radio or mp3 on my st... moreno there's no problem with ur headset. u can't change songs or radio stations with ur headset like nokia... bad thing, i agree.

Hi all new user or want to buy,
Battery life is good but what use if charger is not able to charge it properly.
Please get output from others users also about batterychargup.
I am getting started problem with the port it have for charger. Its somtinme able to detect it sometime not.
I have doubt when i saw the port charging, USB and earphone that it will not work too long. But i was not so much sure taht it will start misbehave from first month.
Some of you think might he is rough in use. But its not the case. Charging port of Samsung seems of same quality for all handset.
Please let me know others also having this probklem. I am waiting for more result before going to service center.

FM quality is totally depend on signals. It seems same like with other handset. As most of user don't like headphone quality so i can not say any thing. Yes but you can use speaker also after attching the headphone. FM quality is so so normal.
RDS is Radio Data System. In short you can recieve the signals or text from the transmitter server about information of other things like ads, traffic info or any other broadcast. But till now no solid use. On our phone information recieved only about programe name. And that also have some decoding issue soemtime depend on the signal. But want to know the detail then read below.
RDS, is a communications protocol standard for embedding small amounts of digital information in conventional FM radio broadcasts. US version is Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS). Travel information with RDS is possible using the Travel Programme (TP) and Travel Announcement (TA) flags. RDS is also used for the digitally coded Traffic Message Channel (TMC), which is widely introduced all over Europe within funded European Union projects. RDS-TMC is nowadays generally used by GPS navigational devices that use the TMC messages also for dynamic re-routing.

as the application works on Java and it can download java applications and games, i wanted to know which files do i need to download in this phone........
beacuse i have downloaded .jad and .jar files but it gives message as unsupported file.
pls help me....
