I had been waiting to buy a phone having the most features present. The phones which i had reviewed always had a disadvantage, i.e, when the camera pixel goes high, the wifi wont be there, when wifi is present blue tooth will disappear.. and so on. I read about Samsung Monte in an online article, and as i saw the features listed, i decided to go for it. It really made me amazed with its features.. I am listing some of the features which i fealt really good about :
1 : The touch sensitivity
2 : Widgets
3 : Time it took to boot up or to switch on
4 : The very detailed logging.
5 : Push Email
6 : Camera
7 : Stand By time
8 : Internet speed when accessed via Wifi
9 : The speed of Youtube view accessed.(Believe me it was faster than my desktop)
10 : Smart Lock.
Well listing the above mentioned features does not also mean that its a complete phone. It does have some cons such as below :
1: No Multi-Tasking.. hence no task manager.
2: Does not allow to transfer large size of file via Blue tooth if your internal phone memory is full.(You have to clear the cache and resend it)
3: Does not support Third Party Softwares. (Hence always limited to the widgets and apps provided by samsung)
4: Some times sluggish navigation between widgets.
5: Too many games loaded, but most of them in its trial mode asking to buy if required.
Well the phone could have been a better and there could also been a big popularity if the above cons was not there.
To end.. what i mentioned are my experience . if any other have a better or a worse experience would like to hear..

because it has not divx player
samsumg i5700 can play divx files
monte can play mp4 files
just install any video converter
and cövert video at 320*240 res., bitrate 500kbps,frame rate 25 fps.
this cofigiration will play video crystel clear and smoth

I got my Monte a few days back and I just love it..
The application support is pretty decent and the screen is bright and clear..
The battery backup is also nice..
on screen key touch pad is nicely laid out you won't feel the need of QWERTY pad..
The supplied hands free could have been of better quality but music buffs can always use their own headphones. I find the music output quality a lot better with my SENNHEISER ear plugs..
The GPS is good however it takes time to locate you position when waiting on GPS..
The display size and quality is very good when compared with Nokia 5800
I can say this phone is a steal considering the features and the price.
I got mine for Rs.9370/- (mumbai)with additional 2yrs warranty.

Touchscreen is intermittent, sometimes it is easy to use however there were times that it just wont response or it is not calibrated.. Would you know how we can calibrate the touchscreen?

Hi,
Does anybody ever has managed to purchase the black and silver version of Samsung Monte in India. I did not like the orange black colour much and am planning to buy the black and silver one instead. Can some one tell me if this colour is available in india. Thanks for your help.
