Kus umak, 25 May 2010NOOOO i was gonna get this phone on a orange contract as we... moreNowhere near as bad as the Omnia HD. I was very disappointed when I bought that phone and saw what Orange had done to it.
Luckily with the Wave, Orange seem to have added rather than taken away. Front screen has their Orange widgets, a bit like what they did with the Sony Ericsson Satio, rather than the SIM free which looks like the front screen as seen in the preview videos. Still apps for Facebook and Twitter, Orange apps is alongside Samsung Apps, apps for Orange Widgets etc. The representative from Samsung assured me you could load up photos to Facebook from your gallery, but without a signal couldn't get online to try it. When you take a photo the automatic option is to upload to Orange Photo.
Camera quality is good (actually think its better than the Omnia HD) and HD recording is great as well. Only problem for me is that UK retailers are selling the 2GB version. I might wait for the SIM free 8GB version to come out as I like to have a large internal memory as well as memory cards. But if I was skint I don't think I'd have a problem with getting the Orange-branded.

Anonymous, 25 May 2010hello, as you used both version, can you tell me if ther... morewhat kind of smart dial you meant? it can do both names and numbers search right on the keypad, like windows mobile and android. Only iPhone doesn't have that feature in all smartphones.

In the past 2 weeks I've had a go on both the SIM-free and the Orange branded s8500s. Both are great. Loving the kinetic scrolling, and even on the Orange branded version the handset isn't as gutted as the i8910 was.

Hi, can any one tell me how slower is web browsing on this phone wave-s8500 if I ordered it from europe to use on tmobil usa?? I know its call egde, but how slower 10%, 20%, 30% slower??? please can some one tell before I pre-ordered? thx you much.

a good application comes with a price tag. otherwise, you will get crap applications like iPhone has with thousands in numbers and heaps of ads.

Being the first fone of the relatively immatured Bada OS, i would like to see how this OS evolves with time..hope samsung will keep updating this fone everytime their OS hits sumthing new!!
I would rather wait n watch!!

What a load of crap !!!
Only 2 things matter:
1) price
2) how many good applications are available now
Samsung doesn't want to use Android and all their programmers only because they want us to use their expensive apps Store. Bad move.

ive had a wave pre-ordered here in spain for the last 2 months and went in today to see if it was on the way and they told me that samsung here told them it will be fully on sale internationly in less than 2 weeks.i hope they`re not wrong
