in general internet surfing and use of bluetooth drains the battery of any mobile or pc soon....so thats a normal and common problem we face in all the mobiles..dont worry dude..

But guys it has only 256MB RAM not 512, Check out in Samsungwave forum. Samsung did not mentioned it in spec's.

Is this model still available. Where is it available in Hydeerabad, India. Some retailers say it has some software problems, hence it is stopped. Will they supply it again.

PART- 1
Samsung manufactured WAVE to introduce their OS BADA. It is samsung's new OS in the market, So they had to make an impression on the public. They had to make it attractive so that people would buy it. So they developed WAVE with the best hardware keeping the PRICE in mind. The device was a test whether public would like bada or not.....
When the WAVE was sold 1 million units in just 4 weeks, Samsung declined the production of WAVE. WHY ??? Why did samsung stop the phone that was so popular ??? They could have easily made large sum of money by selling the popular wave in masses.. But NO. SAMSUMG STOPPED WAVE. Some say samsung ran out of SUPER-AMOLED SCREEN. But that is not the case. Samsung was SELLING WAVE IN LOSS OR NO PROFIT AT ALL. They did not make any PROFIT by selling WAVE. Let me explain by example, suppose samsung earned 10% profit by selling its other mobiles, then they were sellimg WAVE at a loss of 2% or at 0% profit. Ultimately earning only 8% (10-2) profit.....earning less profit. The reason is dat samsumg had already planned from start dat they would sell a FIXED NUMBER OF WAVE PRODUCTS, as WAVE was a test device for BADA OS and also to regain MARKET SHARE. If they were to sell more, then they would have suferred great loss. They also cudn't increase the price bcoz already more than 1 million wave was sold at fixed price. Here in India wave was sold at Rs. 18000/-. Increasing the price after the sales would create big caos. So they had no way out but to stop wave and MADE UP THE STORY OF SHORT SUPPLY OF S-AMOLED SCREEN
With WAVE, samsung got a hint dat their Bada OS has attracted customers, given the lure of good hardware, And that they are ready to release their 2nd product earning profit this time. So they released the WAVE II S8530.

NOW LOOK, wave II has the same hardware as the original WAVE but cost a lot more. It will cost around Rs. 25000/- (indian price ). Now wonder 25000-18000=7000. We have to pay Rs. 7000 extra for the same hardware. This 7000 is their profit this time. You may say dats bcoz of SUPER-LCD SCREEN of WAVE II......YOU tell me, does the replacement of s-amoled(3.3 inch) with s-lcd(3.7 inch) would cost you extra Rs. 7000 ??...............(**continued in next part**)

No no never.. Moreover s-amoled is far better than s-lcd. You may ask WHY WAVE II S8530 DOES NOT HAVE S-AMOLED SCREEN ???? If samsung had supplied WAVE II with s-amoled screen then WAVE II would be no different than the original WAVE, and they would be forced to re-produce or re-manufacture the original WAVE, thus earning no profit.. So samsumg carried out this stragery(plan).... Now they are selling wave II S8530 to earn as usual profit. The original wave s8500 was a test device to capture peoples attention towards the BADA OS and the wave fever creating an impression in mobile market.. As you can see many people are still wanting to buy original wave, but since its stopped they may end up buying wave II, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT SAMSUNG WANTS..
Dont think that samsung stopped wave coz they were using all the s-amoled screen in GALAXY S. WAVE was selling more than galaxy s. Remember that. Samsung could have used those screens in wave to earn more profit.....
Oh i forgot to memtion something. Wave was sold at very low price. I bet you, there is not a single phone in market with 1ghz cpu, 512 mb ram, etc at the price range of wave...
Samsung said they will re-manufacture original wave s8500 the NEXT YEAR 2011. But in 2011 more new phones will come up with 1.2 Ghz cpu, 1.5 Ghz cpu, more ram, 1080p video recording, etc. And you know when new phones come up with better features, the prices of phones with less-features or can say old phones will decrease. Then phone of Rs. 24000 will decrease to Rs. 18000. At that time Samsung may again bring back the original wave in market at the same price of Rs. 18000.. Then they will be making profit this time with original wave..
So lucky WAVE S8500 owners just cheers !!

To increase the battery lyf-->
1.discharge wave and the charge it to the full.repeat this for 3-4 times.
2.if ur nt using 3g ,change the network mode to 2g.
3.set the brightness to 4(thats enough brightness) or less.
4.change to AP UART mode (by dialing *#8740#).
5.turn off location tracking.
6.set backlight tym to 15 sec.
7.Do not set .gif wallpaper.
8.turn off-->overturning,putting down ,double tapping and flow in tilt direction--in gestures setting (nobody needs it).
9.turn wifi and bluetooth off.
With this ,ur battery will last atleast 2 days which is good according to the features.
