KSR, 14 Nov 2010I would definitely agree with you reg Wave's still image qu... moreThats wat i wanted to say.The hardware is good .its just the software that needs improvement. And today only i saw that i hav been using my wave in AP uart mode.i changed it to CP uart mode and i opened 8 apps like calender ,asphalt, bruce lee etc.and there was no error of low memory which i used to get.this is really a good mode if shorter battery is no problem coz the battery life will get shorten in this mode.
And one more thing.I connect my phone to home wifi .sometimes when i sit idle after connecting to wifi for about 15 min,and when i try to open a site,it says "no response".Has anybody encountered such problem wid wifi?

I want to share one gr8 quality I have observed in WAve's macro mode..

If u r taking a closeup in Macro mode with flash ON.. Wave automatically reduces the flash intensity..I guess this way it helps to prevent the whitening of scene..

If u take the same closeup in Auto Focus mode.. the Power LED flashes with its full capacity and this results in complete white wash of pic captured..

Anybody wanna check it out.. try it urselves..

But as I already mentioned in my previous post .. image quality below average..in Macro mode

anonymous, 14 Nov 2010some of the wave users r saying the camera is nt that good.... moreThat is right, the firmware for camera is better in Bada 1.2. But i guess if you upgrade manually with uploader you have to force the camera upgrade also manually (http://www.badadev.com/updating-camera-firmware, be careful not to brick your camera, see comments...)
When the firmware upgade for Bada 1.2 will be available via Kies i am sure the camera will be updated automatically with the right software. Waiting for it, what are they doing ??

anonymous, 14 Nov 2010some of the wave users r saying the camera is nt that good.... moreI would definitely agree with you reg Wave's still image quality..

It has got a pretty decent sensor.. as far as mobile cameras are concrened..but there few things that Sammy needs to correct in terms of Cam software..

Focusing..Wave's auto focus works good ..given good lighting conditions. Even in the low lighting, sensor (harware) really catches the image with minimum noise and proper focusing..u can observe this till u give half press to the camera button..4m this we can say that the imaging hardware quality is pretty decent..but complete the pressing and eventually capturing the scene..BOOOM!!..focusing just f**ks away..the image precessing algorithm which then tries to sharpen the image acquired (which is a blurred one itself due to improper focusing algorithm) results in artifacts (loss of detail) and granular noise (grainy image)

I even tried the Macro mode..which I can say is the worst part of Wave..my old Samsumg metro (2MP cam with no autofocus whatsover) takes decent & far better macro pics than Wave. I am dam' sure it is also the result of faulty focussing and processing algorithms in Wave..Also last but not the least.. Digital Image Stabilization..I have no issues with this as I have very good non-shaky hands .. but it is really imp for several other wavers out there who cant handle the phone with out shaking...

Samsung can definetly come up fixes for these..as we already know their feature phones have very good image processing algorithms aleady..just they need incorporate them wisely into Bada..Such issues are to be expected in such an younger OS..Andriod & iOS per se, are far worser in thier initial outings (in this area); when compared to BADA. Needless to say WinMo OS is still suffering with not so good imaging software even though with the superior h/w provided by companies Samsung etc.

some of the wave users r saying the camera is nt that good.i want to say something about the camera.there r two things that define a camera
                                  1. camera clarity, aperture size, camera quality - which is great in wave.the best i hav seen.
2.the camera algorithm (which can be modified by software upgrade) - which is ok in wave .not great.but tge video recording is the best i hav seen.
so wat i want to say is -the camera algorithm will be modified by samsung that will make the pics look sharper.
