AnonD-27987, 07 Jan 2012thanks for the input....but who said that 1080p must be clo... moreNo single core phone can record/play 1080p in the whole market including galaxy s.
and nexus 1080p (24 fps) is just upscaled 720p.
it's bitrate is 9.9 Mbps which is within the 720p range.
it's ajoke when comparing it to iphone 4s (24 Mbps) or even sgs2 (17 Mbps).
Understand Now?

will we ever have
U.I modifications applications such as "barrel" in IOS?
played with an iphone 4s of my friend and wow....the way you scroll through the menu is made alot more fun to look at :D
one thing that wavers can be proud of is that wave's 720p video record on good lighting isn't really trumped much by the 1080p of the 4s...whew that alone imo is an achievement...
quite different in night time videos though...wave simply records its videos darker...compared to the 4s
hopefully samsung brings back the contrast slider found in bada 1.2 so at least we can adjust it for the camera to fill in more light

AnonD-27987, 07 Jan 2012thanks for the input....but who said that 1080p must be clo... more-Mainly, In ordre to capture a real 1080 video you need a sufficent processor (dual core) to process the data, and a sufficient sensor ( 8MP) to produce the data you are processing.
-About Hummingbird matter; there's no single core Hummingbird processor capable practically to record/play real 1080p in the whole market. In other words: no single core phone in the market can play/record real 1080p.
-About galaxy S; It doesn't play 1080p because it's asingle core.
Check your info here :www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9000_galaxy_s-review-478p5.php
-N8 doesn't record 1080p -Although it's capable sensor- because of it's historic 680MHz (Obviously not dual core :)).
-And here we come to Nexus: Nexus can't record areal 1080p !.
Yes, Nexus video is almost upscaled because of it's insufficient 5MP sensor (not 8MP).
Here's what gsmarena said: ''You can grab this 1080p@24fps sample (11.9MB, 0:10s) and this 720p@30fps sample (10.3MB, 0:10s)'.
By comparing the result size of the same length 1080p (11.9 Mb) and 720p (10.3 Mb) nexus samples you find that the video is just upsaled.
The poor Bitrate of the 1080p of Nexus is under 10 Mbps which is uncomparable to the real 1080p 24 Mbps of iPhone 4S. That's because iPhone 4S has both 8Mp and dual core.
If you have aFHD monitor, play the untouched 1080p samples of Nexus and iphone 4s to compare your self.
(By the way, even N8 720p is better than nexus 1080p).
-So the reminded question: why can't the 5Mp sensors record real 1080p while it can capture more at still pics?
*Because the pixels produced at most of the conditions aren't fully saturated with the correct data.
Try to capture apicture with your wave then scale/zoom it to 100% on your computer and you will see the noise I am talking about.
Or if you have aFHD monitor try to put the pic as abackground and Fit the width to the edges without streching and you will see how exactly your phone would record 1080p, if it were dual core.

Omar Mohamed, 07 Jan 2012I think that is not correct.
You need at least adual core ... morethanks for the input....but who said that 1080p must be clockspeed dependent?
who says hummingbird is incapable of such?
spec sheet shows it is very much capable...
5mp is way bigger than 1080p just so you know dear sir 1080p is actually only 2 megapixel...
its like saying nokia's 12 megapixel actually has 12mp video...(which is silly btw)
check out the google nexus (latest) it has 5mp sensor but also can do 1080p rather smoothly and no noise...
fact is 1 gig in galaxy s is actually capable of playing 1080p... which has the same spec as the wave
both are disabled when it comes to recording in 1080p though....(in theory because they need to market the next generation of phones, that being the likes of galaxy s2 to be the ones to feature 1080p_

AnonD-27987, 06 Jan 2012http://samsungs8500wave.com/2010/03/14/samsung-s8500-wave-t... moreI think that is not correct.
You need at least adual core to record 1080p.
forexample:
1 GHz dual core can while 1.4 GHz single core can't. Although the higher frequency of the single core!
Understand?
and even if the processor was dual core, the 5 MP of wave won't be good enough. (Too noisy)

wave is very much capable of 1080p video playback and even recording(!)
wonder if someone could actually unleash this on a custom firmware? hehehe!
watched juno and australia and now real steel
not having issues so far with audio quality...perhaps it has something to do with kies conversion? excellent audio quality it still indeed has ^^
