thinking about it, I think kies' transfer of audio/video has something to do with it more than bada 2.0 itself I suppose

btw....s8500 was supposed to be able to record in 1080p and play 1080p videos but is being held back by the bada O.S. itself...forgot where it was linked to in the samsungwaveforums but the article presented there is similar to this one:

it seems video quality is actu... moreware is the official new firmware for the samsung wave GT-S8500 ? , it was promised for july 2011 and now its januari 2012 !!!
Samsung makes many promises but it still not here the upgrade bada 2.01
when they dont delivre the upgrade for my wave i never buy another phone from Samsung thats a fact !!!

Let us hear from other users who upgaded to Bada 2.0.
I prefer my wave with Bada 1.2 having superior sound quality than an upgraded one with a lot of bugs and having Audio problem.
That is a Beta version and you flash it (not using Kies)maybe that's the main reason.....

its a shame that bada 2.0 is having a bit of issues regarding audio quality
its actually one of the few handsets that is powered by the wolfson DAC chipset
which should offer superior sound compatible with the latest HD sound platform hoho!

yeah a bit more sensitive it seems
I also encountered the "screeching" noise while watching "kingdom of heaven"
but odd hting is they arent present on the movie that I recently uploaded on to the phone "australia"
a good thing that bada 2.0 did is that upon pressing the "menu" button while recording no longer cancels the recorded video, it now saves it
in bada 1.XXX it was quite impractical that sometimes I press the menu button instead of the camera button in order to end a record, only to find out that the menu button cancels the recorded vid hoho
now in bada 2.0 it's improved
oh and turbofly HD works on bada 2 of s8500 hehehe works like a charm ^^

And sound quality has really taken a bit of plunge in 2.0. Higher frequency notes are exaggerated. And we never had custom equalizer option :(

Hello All,
It may be a stupid question but forgive me as I am not an internet expert :
Whenever I try to connect phone with Wi-Fi, it says DNS failed. It doesn't matter whether secured network or not. ( I mean that in secured network I give password and Wi-Fi symbol at the top left of the screen is shown as connected and in non-secured network it connects too).
I have tried static and dynamic IPs and almost everything as found in google. My firmware is up to date.
Any idea guys? what can be the reason?

some1 plz tell me the "turbo hd" game only support bada 2.0 to S8600. will this game support S8500 when the firmware update to bada 2.0.1?? & another 1 is the gameloft's game "the adventure of tintin: the secret of unicorn hd" which support bada 1.2 but only for the model of S8600. which is a bit odd! will it support in S8500 if i download?

[deleted post]No, official 2.0 for india isn't out. Flashed it with the one available for hungary/poland.
Real football 2010 is not working. Will dwnld asphalt5 tonite; other gameloft titles r too big to test. Will try them only after i get positive vibes from others.
And video player..,more glitches. There is screeching sound now n then, esp when u touch any key(on screen). Strange, video playback had been the real ace for waves. But samsung has made a mess of it. No color tone adjustment, no brightness adjstmnt (unless u toy with gen settings), no mosaic search, screeching sounds, can't hide a video frm player menu :(
Hope, next beta/official vsn, addresses these issues.

sir abijheet...the only hd game I've tried is the free one the turbofly HD...works great so far...
it crashed to the menu the first time I launched it....but the on the second try...it worked quite well ^^
cannot comment on the email yet....I tried wifi on several mcdonald's hot spot...odd that I can connect to some mcdo sites and sometimes I can't and the time that I was able to connect I tried out the voice command
quite funky that it sometimes it recognizes my commands perfectly...and sometimes it goofs off hohoho
and I recently found out that like "siri" of the iphone 4s, you can only use voice command when connected to the internet :/

Sir carloud, n what about hd games? I tried real football 2010 twice, it reboots my phone.
And as read in 2.0b complaints, emails are not being recieved automatically. Have to get them manually everytime. Tho still checking if i m getting somewhr wrong.

Carlou... moresir abhijeet, color tone and photo edit options and contrast sliders in video recording arent available in bada 2.01 anymore....(in beta at least)
its quite sad for samsung to take out those features

Carloud sir, can u plz help me out? In video player, there isn't an option to change color tone anymore. Or is it buried somewhere in general settings??
Locked screen lags in swiping, thats one irritant. Sound quality is more or less the same. Video settings options are real downside. Its too cloudy in my town this week, so could not try gps response thus far. Overall bada2, looks more of cosmetic workout. Thats it. Voice cmd, works but its too slow (but gud start frm sammy. Waiting for lang/voice, to be made available). Havent tried any hd game yet, so no idea abt memory issues. But multitasking seems okay overall, thus far. And camera,...pfff, i m not into it, so let others judge.

hoho not having any slowdown issues with bada 2.01 kp6 "aka official bada 2 in poland/hungary" hohoho
though I admit Im currently using the default widgets...havent tried maximizing it yet....
but its quite fast...sometimes faster in navigating the settings menu than on 1.2 hohoho!
anyhow just want to share this s8500 is actually the model of super amoled hohohoho!

oh and sound quality is still very good, just a bit more sensitive with the sound's bitrate it seems...but overall is great hohoho!

Do not update to Bada 2.0 !!!! i did, and i really regrate it. its unstable and slow interface. resist the temptation, becose its not worth the effort. samsung, you better try little harder or I dump you!!!
