I need some clarifications, does it really support up to 16gb micro sd? because i saw the on the samsung site that it supports up to 16 gb Only.. Im planning to buy wave or N8, but n8 hasnt been released here yet.. any insights? those with hands on experience would be better

Hey wavers!
I need an opinion regarding this phone.
I am looking forward to buy a smartphone. Now many people say that the Samsung Wave is not a smartphone. They say it's a high-end feature phone. Is it so?
And secondly I have seen the demos etc, the Bada OS is good and user friendly, its snappy also. But I want to ask what is the future of the Bada OS? With a highly acclaimed Android in the market, can Bada survive? There are also a very limited apps available for the Samsung Wave (I guess around 820). Will this phone last in a stiff competition? Or if its doubtful, then I will go for an Android. Please help me out, I am stuck in a real dilemma!

it is really true that is was discontinued?. . the price falls to 290 euros . . I guess this is a wrong info. . ?

brynn, 10 Oct 2010big thing is if it aint broke DO NOT FIX IT,,my wave is wor... moreHey buddy I'm keen on purchasing class 6 32gb card.what's the brand of memory card you are using and more importantly what's the class?here in India,only sandisk is available and no information abt class is given.I'm afraid that it might lag so kinda hesitant to buy.btw once you upgrade to bada 1.2, you won't find the need for a physical qwerty keypad

Whenever I start my Samsung Wave, there comes an error saying 'Temporary error occurred' & then I have to click back or ok. After that, no problem occurs. Why does this screen of 'error' come up at every start up ?

just missed the last wave by 2 days . are ur sure that it is just unavailable or has it been discontinued?
even the shopkeeper was not sure whether it'l come . man just missed it. damn if its discontinued any advice for the next best phone

irvinehooi, 10 Oct 2010@ norcolepsy Hey mate, congrate to you updated to Bada 1... morei haven't noticed any slow down with having both apps running at the same time. there is also a firmware update option via wi-fi or 3g on the phone which is interesting. i haven't had one out of ram message and i have had up to 15 different apps running through multitask and switching between them. dolphin browser is quicker to load over 3g network and t9 trace is a joy to use.

Hey mate, congrate to you updated to Bada 1.2
How's the response when you run both heavy game at the same time (Asphalt and Bruce Lee) is you WAVE slow down or any slow response or any delay ??

I would recommend you to wait for the official firmware update available on Samsung KIES. It's worth to wait for it release. Since this is a major update for WAVE.

I would believe that by the time it release, Bada 1.2 already have gone through a lot of revision where it already solved some of the minor minor BUG within this firmware.

I hope that Microsoft Exchange Email on Samsung WAVE will have less issue with this Bada 1.2 firmware.

Beaware that using multiloader to update the firmware will void the warranty, I personally not recommend you to do that.

delete asphault 5 and reinstal it on the memory card it wil increase the phone memory and will give less memory errors..

ANJALI, 10 Oct 2010 Hey irvinehooi can u tell me should i update bada 1.2 ... morebig thing is if it aint broke DO NOT FIX IT,,my wave is working fine and its the only fone from n86/n97/n97mini/n96/galaxys/vivaz pro that can really handle 32gb card.WITH 24gb of mp3 some video every handset that ive tried that can handle 32gb card struggles really badly..i SWITCH ON WAVE AND GIVE IT CHANCE TO BOOT UP AND RECOGNISE EVERYTHING AND AWAY YOU GO...Its such a shame that their no pull out qwerty else wave would be perfect for me..

I would not really recomend it as a buisness fone but its a multimedia giant with top everything as ive put before.I have tried pretty hard to flatten battery in one day but its basttery is strong and its the first smarfone ive used using fullblast screen briteness all the time..Arggghhh its just i cant use it as everyday device cause touchscreen.BRING BACK BUTTONS,ive pressed buttons for nearly 40 years from swithching lights on in house to remote controls and cant change now,plus in real life these things are really useless in touchscreen....

The magic torch app has now got a flash light and unlike other apps,it doesn't flicker or switch off automatically as the screen doesn't get locked at all.

Some of the users already flash their Wave to Bada 1.2
They even comment the Bada 1.2 is really a huge improvement including t9 trace, can open lots of apps but no memory warning problem, browsing is superb fast, fast booting, improvement performance, response even faster, improve the real multi-touch too and many more.

Although flashing is not recommended, then wait for official update by the end of November 2010 (source from Samsung's email).

launched in india.

So it is safe to update or not.

First of all you have download bada 1.2 and multiloader from www.samsungfirmwareworld.com. You might have to register then go to the bada forum and there is a link to rapidshare where you will be able to download the file the follow these instructions. I would back up all your contacts to samsung kies as I lost mine when I upgraded.

1.Unzip the downloaded .rar file(password is samfirmware.com)
2.open extracted folder
3.open Multiloader (Run as administrator if you are using Vista or windows 7)
4.select LSI controll
5.Check Full Download (Do not check Boot Change cause it may gives some serious problem if you didn't flash properly)
6.Click Amss button and select amss.bin file from extracted folder..
7.like this select all files
8.Apps - apps_compressed.bin
9.Rsrc1 - Rsrc_S8500_Open_Europe_Common.rc1
10.Rsrc2 - Rsrc2_S8500_Open_Euro_Common(Low).rc2
11.Factory FS - FactoryFs_S8500_Open_Europe_Common.ffs
12.CSC - CSC_S8500_Open_Europe_Common_OXA_XXJID.csc
13.SHP APP - ShpApp.app

14.Power off your phone(Wave)
15.connect your phone to pc using Usb cable provided with Wave..(Make sure that samsung kies installed on your pc).
16.Press and hold the following kies to anable Download mode
(Down Volume key, Lock button, End key(Power on or off button))
17.Now the phone will turned on with Download Enabled mode.
18.On the pc the driver will installed if it is not already installed.Wait untill it finishes the installation process of Driver
19.Now press "Port Search" button on the Multiloader window
20.then it will show the Ready status if the driver installed properly(means the phone is connected properly)
21.Now press Download Button. It will start the flashing procedure. wait for 20 minutes( Approx)
After completing the flashing process the phone will restarts automatically.
22.Finally Disconnect the Usb cable.

p.s If it gets stuck on the bada screen when it restarts I took out my battery and then it restarted and worked properly.
