s8500 is asuperb phone try upgrading the firmware this will solve ur problem for sure- all the best

HELP REQUIRED?
Hello guys nd gals, i connected my wave 4 the 1st time with wifi. It connected to the bsnl wifi broadband seamlessly but when i tried to use it, then i found that there was no speed at all. It takes upto 30 seconds to open the homepage of google in operamini; my gprs works faster than this. My brothers old n86 is able to acheive download speeds upto 200 kbps easily. Is there any setting or something that i am missing? I'm running on BADA 1.2. Please respond. Thanks in advance.

if it restarts that often and the service center guys themselves have already flashed the phone, perhaps its already a faulty hardware? can you ask if they can flash the phone with a different software region?

dear sir lil grumpy: err it is unfortunate that your wifi signal has been underperforming as of late
wifi signal problems have alot of factors to consider:
1. the router that you are connecting to, perhaps it is having some problems? If you can confirm that the router is okay lets confirm if the internet provider is at optimal level or as good as what you were able to access with your wave 1
2. Perhaps its in the firmware of the phone? I noticed that the different firmware have different wifi attributes
try upgrading or changing your firmware lets see if it works

I just got this message while trying to access Google Maps on my Wave S8500: "Google Mapas reuires Bada 2.0 or higher firmware version. Please upgrade your firmware via Samsung Kies."
Kies updated mi phone to S8500XXKF3/S8500OXFKA1 (CRG), wich is not BADA 2.
Location is Croatia. What is going on with BADA 2.0 !?

try using the following code *#8740# this is for power saving ,if you have mutiple applications opened your battery life also gets depleted very quick if you are indoors adjust your screen brightness your touch sensivity your vibration ,make sure also you dont have your bluetooth on and avoid charging phone and use it especially usb charge then you are bound to kill the battery.

DEAR WAVERS,wid lot of expectations m posting dis query of mine and will b thankful frm my heart if u ppl will help:
it goes like dis,i own dis phone since 14 months,and no doubt its a part of mah necessities.....i loved it but it has been givin me nightmares since last 2 mnths....
I updated it to 1.2 version ddkh1 frm kies and was very happy....but suddenly hell broke on it battery started to crash in 3-4 hrs N phone wud keep restarting.....so i took it to d service center n dey flashed it n put 1.2 ddkf1 but d problems were same n one day d phone didnt start,again took it to service center n again reflashing.....den got d battery replaced but restart problm persisted n again one day it became dead finally again got it flashed n right nw its 1.2 ddkh1 battery workz fine but phone restarts suddenly anytym n i m always in a fear dat it may become dead.....
KINDLY help dear frnds ill b very obliged n thankful......

Dear sir carloud yesterday i have opted to purchase the wave II from a friend and i noticed the wi-fi strength on this phone is not as good as my S8500 , the downloading from internet there seems to be lagging and takes longer to download is there any way that i can increase the strength for the wi-fi and better the downloading from the internet.

ap uart- reduces the cpu performance
better battery life
cp uart increases cpu performance=lower battery life
I can attest to these as loading videos in ap uart is noticeably slower (divx files) compared to cp uart (which upon flashing my asian firmware seemingly defaulted to)
which theoretically why some seem to notice an increase in performance on bada 2.0 seems like in bada 2.0 cp uart is the default setting (also the default setting in bada 1.2 in some other firmwares like in euro)

battery life would probably be longer in "ap uart" mode hohohoho!"

U told exact opposite..
CPUART - battery saving mode
APUART - high-Performance mode
PS:- These modes are supposed to work as said. But nobody proved that practically.
