My fone is out of war... moreits something to protect wifi. i guess WPS is wifi protection system . but i never had to use it . i think you need to first configure your router through your PC . if you dont mind what is the speed of your internet from your internet company? and also try to reduce the number of devices using internet at a time. also try to use internet by being near your router. laterzz

This phone is superb.. it can function

Your $320 is worth more than any other $500
crappy phones that boast more mega pixel(myth)
or Internet speed
Samsung Wave can offer you 2 to 3.6 MBPS
if your country's Internet is crap
then sorry for you friend..
but thats not the fault of your phone
regarding Gmail??.. like woa?
there is a solution for that

It is very difficult to get an internet connection, to download emails etc. When I finally do dosnload and read emails and write a reply, it NEVER sends them. Also, gmail seems to need a special version which I have downloaded to the phone, but the phone does not recognise that it's there, so no gmail function at all.
I've searched the manuel and spent endless hours at the shops of my operator in case it's a network-related problem. Apparently it's a config problem. Any ideas?

Nd no update is available via Kies so what to do now? Also i think the 1.2 update has made my camera go crazy. The hardware button no longer works normally, instead it keeps trying focussing and takes the pic automatically nd the image taken is always unfocussed. Do u guys have d same prblm? Someone suggested me to uninstall WAMOCAM to solve this problem. I did it but to my dismay the problem didn't solve nd i lost the application as well nd now i don't hav ny decent camera application as well to take pics nd i've not taken ny pic in a while. Camera recording is working fine though.
P.S.-Opera mini worked better 4 me on GPRS than Dolphin so it gives me better surfing nd downloading speeds. If my wifi works then may be i'll try Dolphin.

Can some1 explain what is WPS in wifi nd what is its use? My modem has a button 4 it nd also the fone shows this option. When i try to connect my fone via WIFI WPS, it goes on connecting 4 like 4ever.

Wonder when the official release of the bada upgrade will be out i am tired of waiting for samsung seems they are poor on or patehetic would be a better adjective to describe the shoddy company.

It depends ... moreWhat other settings are needed for any simple alarm clock apart from repeat days and the time,and when the little clock icon appears at the top of the home screen, isn't that proof enough of my work being already done? Not forgetting my maths teacher did her work well so setting wrong time is not even an option :)

It's a great multimedia phone with a stupid,ever buggy alarm clock made me miss an important appointment today! I guess Samsung intended it that way, that the Wave, and Wave fans may remain in a deep slumber forever and stop whining about updates and bada 2.0 :D

upon observation, I think you might have mist... moreno mistake. After I got the message on the phone, I thought Bada 2 is released.
I did not update anything because there is no update to BADA 2 trough kies. Google Maps still does not work and require update to BADA 2 or higher trough Kies.
guess I can just wait till they release BADA 2

hmm Im facing quite a dilemma here I really am tempted to flash the phone right now to the latest bada 2.0 beta software...

main thing that I liked in bada 2.0 is that
1.video recording now has a touch focus great for "macro videos" hohoho!
2. the live wallpaper themes, and the live lockscreen(seems like this is still exclusive to bada 2.0 and no other os has it yet)
3. overall new user experience
but it seems that all these firmwares are still in beta
and likely to have quite a number of bugs...not to mention not being able to upgrade via keis( have to reflash it to an official one) once bada 2.0 officially launches
and it seems as of now, I have luckily flashed a bada 1.2 that is very very stable, no restarts, no hang ups, no lag, even when at application crashes the phone only returns to the main menu unlike my previous bada 1.2 firmware wherein it restarts randomly....even when texting!
So any advice guys? what do you think? should I flash to bada 2.0 beta just to access the great touch focus on videos....or should I just wait for the official firmware?
any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks ^_^

jofa, 02 Dec 2011I just got this message while trying to access Google Maps ... moredear Jofa,
upon observation, I think you might have mistook a "kies 2.01 update" to your actual phone firmware "bada2.01" update
I also encountered this while I was connected to the internet and launched keis on my computer
I was soo excited when a message "an update to 2.01 is available" wasnt really able to read the whole message I just clicked on the "ok" button so as to download the update immediately
but while downloading I was puzzled that the phone wasnt really updating to its usual course, or no message of "please do not disconnect the phone"
and also, the download was fast
after the update installed I was shocked to see my phone is still in 1.2
after a bit of research it seems the update was only for the KIES...and not on the actual phone firmware
and to answer when will bada 2.0 officially be released via kies? No one knows the exact date yet...only Samsung was quoted in saying that its supposed to be released q4 this year
which is no more than this month of december ^_^
