Some good advice,,if when using wave its fine for you then dont upgrade software...Just because a new update is on offer it can make things worse or introduce new bugs..If it aint broke dont fix it..
I am a big symbian user and the temptation to upgrade to latest firmware was huge but some were unstable and made some things worse and thats were trouble starts as you can not go back to last firmware..Another thing is you can wait for a more stable version of firmware to come along that everyone raves about and just go straight to that you DONT have to go thru every update..
My second wave arrived this morning and its on charge now for 8-12 hrs...I say second wave cause sold first to buy galaxy s which is now sold..Good old wave and the screen is clearer and brighter on wave than SGS..

sarath, 24 Aug 2010I am using this wave for past 3 months. Phone is very nice.... moreHave you enabled the 5.1 sound. You have that option when you play movies and music. I find it makes a massive difference....hats off to samsung!

Just to clarify, do you also have the "_INU" in the firmware name for the latest firmware JH1.

No, in my case the installation did not compete before I got the Device connection failed / installation not completed message and had to start firmware recovery. The firmware recovery failed the first time and I had to restart the process by pulling out the battery. It then got completed the second time around

This may sound a bit far fetched, but then it happened with me, hence my questions.
While using KIES to upgrade the firmware (someone said it "pooped" / poped up), I just lifted the phone once. Immediately it showed a connection lost in KIES and showed a message that I would have to recover to the last firmware. I pressed the button, it advised me to enter into a RECOVERY Mode by holding down 3 buttons and then started recovering the firmware. It failed and I had to restart it by removing the battery and then restarted the firmware recovery.
It completed the process, restarted my phone and now I see that I have a S8500DDJH1_INU firmware.
My questions are -
1. Is this the same firmware which is the latest in India (I am in India now and will be here for some time). Do you also have a "_INU" in your firmware name. I donot recall having it in the last firmware name.
2. Did any one else face the same / similar issue.
Phone works just fine so does all its funtions, especially the ones I use - Route 66, Internet and Phone And KIES says no more firmware available.
Answers would be greatly appreciated

when I try to download India road map through wifi on my phone, I get connection failed error and when I do it thru pc sync software, I get no product found for this product number error.I'm really fed up with the software support for this phone.be it kies or route 66 sync.someone PLEASE HELP!!!

hey guys from all over india,I am requesting u that don't take any hasty steps(by flashing to unofficial firmwares) if kies doesn't show u ddjh1 firmware update,even u have selected u r region correctly,at the time of installing kies.Because even my self I am unable to update to ddjf2 till date from ddje7,Ofcourse today only I was able to do it from ddje7 to ddjh1,plz consult service centre regarding.
