jp, 19 Aug 2010No, it doesn't. Are you talking about your own phone even... moreI agree with jp with this issue, iam able to play mkv 720p video smoothly, only one file showed me audio codec unsupported later i checked it to be a 6channel audio. After converting the audio codec wave played it flawlessly.

Mike, 19 Aug 2010Hey, does anyone know if the google maps application has be... moreThere's a default Google widget on the first homescreen with a Google Maps link on the bottom left side. I can't seem to get the hang of using it on the Wave. On my Nokia E52, Google Maps works better than Ovi Maps, which I also have some problems figuring out. So far, the built-in Route66 on the Wave has been easiest for me to use (you have to download maps through Route66 Sync first though, see my previous post).

One of the key strengths of Wave and Galaxy are their multimedia capabilities. These seem to beat iPhone 4 as well, though that is subjective

charan123, 19 Aug 2010thanx bro... can u please tell me how to activate and use t... moreFor the built-in GPS app to function properly, you have to download your country maps through a free program called "Route66 Sync" on your PC (not Kies). Type in "Route66 Sync" on the search bar above and follow the instructions and exchanges some people have had on this.
            Good luck!

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2010Yes, the wave has some problems playing x264, xvid and divx... moreNo, it doesn't.
Are you talking about your own phone even?
If it's really a Wave, you might want to try a firmware upgrade or try to clear your phone memory. But I doubt you do, because I have h264 videos converted from dvds, as well as 720p xvid and divx videos from torrent files, and they all play smoothly on my Wave. A few have a certain audio codec that isn't supported yet, so there's no sound, but most files are ok. The only video files I've tested that the Wave seems to have problems with are .mov files from iTunes, but I haven't checked if it's a DRM thing or if .mov isn't really supported.
Go get a Wave and see if any other phone (apart from the Galaxy S) can play 720p .mkv files as smoothly. Peace! =D

Hey, does anyone know if the google maps application has been released for Samsung wave? If so, does it work well? Will a regular gprs service such as vodafone live, be able to run it?

The included headphones are not that great, I have other cheap headphones with better sound. Also my samsung headphones broke after 2 weeks, but thats fine cause I want to get some better quality headphones anyway.

Yes, the wave has some problems playing x264, xvid and divx, probably the codecs are to slow, so many frames are skipped, and the video becomes choppy, this is a FACT!!
