bert, 30 Jul 2010i have a question? im planning to buy a new phone. jet2 or ... moreBert, Jet 2 (or simply jet s8003) is PhP12K in Greenhills, PhP14900 in Samsung shops. That saleslady was suckering you in! Wave has dolby 5.1 and build materials are better than jet (Jet is all plastic, Wave has metal casing with a few plastic parts on the upper and lower edges). Where did you see the P17K Wave? SRP is PhP19,790 most everywhere.

WAVEOMANIAC, 30 Jul 2010Hello All i am a very big fan of wave from india. And am p... moreThere's no big issue with the Wave. You have to see the screen to appreciate, it really is unmatched, even by the iPhone (the Galaxy S has the same screen in bigger size, but it's more expensive & doesn't have flash/videolight). There might be a few minor bugs & stuff with the Wave, but nothing that firmware upgrades won't be able to fix. It apparently uses the same processor as the iPhone 4, really fast & powerful. Keep in mind though that the Wave multitasks and tries to run flash content from websites that have them, unlike the iPhone, so be prepared to have some apps crash from time to time when these eat up system resources (iOS is more stable since it doesn't allow such multitasking and flash programs. A fair trade I think, if you want multitasking & flash in a mobile, you have to keep watch of programs running in the background. If you've used WinMo, PocketPC, Symbian, or Android, you're used to this)

                                    Answers to your specific q's:
1)Can i download apps from UK site? - From my experience here in the Philippines, the Samsung Apps program detects your connection location (IP? I'm not really sure) instead of your credit card billing location like the Apple App Store does. So for the moment, I can only download what's available in my country. Not sure what happens when Samsung Apps opens selling here though. (With the Apple store, we couldn't download any app when it wasn't set up here, so a lot of early users jailbroke their iPhones & Touchs. At least I can download the free stuff already)
2)Are there enough apps available on website? - Much less than Android Market, but really pretty good for a store that hasn't really opened worlwide. There's more than what I found when Apple's App Store first opened its doors to the Phils)
3)Can i configure my office email on the Wave? - Yep! I had my office, google and yahoo emails configured pretty easily (the phone configures gmail, yahoo & hotmail for you).

I think the guy who was limited to wifi missed either the packet data settings or the network configuration (this last one is operator-dependent). Or both.
