TMT, 25 Jun 2011guys i think i am in deep trouple...while manually updating... moreHi!

It also happened to my phone when I tried to upgrade its 1.0 to 1.2 software using my Windows 7 laptop (which I discovered not compatible with Samsung Kies).

My advice is to let the Samsung service center do the upgrading because its kinda complicated for it involves your phone's software.

Fortunately, my phone was still under warranty when it happened, so they fixed my phone for free!

But the bad news was all the files I had on my phone were deleted like recent contacts stored on my phone memory, photos, videos, etc., huhu! Waaah!!!

So now, I make sure to let the experts do the upgrading. I hope my advice helped you in a way.

Amazing phone. I was an Android fan but no Android phone will give you that battery life or speed.
You probably wonder why it's that high (top2) on gsmarena. Well, it's just a great, balanced phone that you will be happy with. Feels much better once you have it than on paper. Everything about it just works, it feels solid and actually while almost every smartphone has some flows this one is complete and you can almost feel the quality.

@TMT don't worry, sometimes that happens, what you need to do is just reflash it using multiloader, any firmware you want, just do the same process..

Waver, 26 Jun 2011We are talking about RAM here, not storage spaceyes memory/RAM.. Wave/Wave II physically have 512MB of Mobile DDR RAM.

The fact is 256MB of RAM is reserved for Bada OS along with the libraries & service layers. This also includes the Bada default apps like Mail, Messaging, IM, Social Hub, Facebook/Twitter, Browser, TouchWiz Music, Gallery etc.

In Bada 1.0/1.2, the phone can only utilize 1 of the 2 parts of the RAM (this is because how the OS is designed).
Basically, when u've a install app running, & switching to a Bada native app, the install app will (Suspend). This will suspend the RAM (RAM-reserve switching). One of the parts can be used. But the certain functions of Bada will run in the background, not all (some of these services r suspended as well).

Within the Bada OS reserved RAM, approx 70MB-90MB (depending on numbers of widgets, homescreens & app main menus). For ex. Dolfin browser will take about 12MB-18MB of RAM to show about:blank (OS 1.0/1.2). Enabling Flash will add about 3MB-5MB to show the blank page.

TouchWiz Music Player takes about 10MB-16MB depending on how many songs you have in ur Library and how many Cover Art (also if u turn on the Visualization). SRS Mobile Surround and EQs do not affect the RAM since they r built into the player itself.

The Java Runtime as a whole is part of the Bada default services & is unaffected if u install 3rd-party Java apps.

              Hope this will help.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2011Finally uc browser for bada has arrived its working perfect... moreI like Wave's stock browser (Dolphin 2.0) and the quality of experience it offers really amazes me.
But having a 3rd party browser along your stock can't be bad, right?!
And for those that didn't use UC Browser (me included) before, even java version will be a surprisingly nice experience.
The fist moments that UC uploaded on SamsungApps I grabbed it and eventually deleted java one!(which made my impressions about UC).
Will Opera Mini for bada make it's way on SamsungApps?! After seeing Official UC,I'm really optimist.

Really appriciate your time,Since Jan that i got my phone the RAM became my nightmare and 'till now there wasn't a convincing answer at all...not for me.
I admit the phone isn't perfect (which before purchase seemed) but again there is nothing wrong with it, as someone that knew a new OS needs time to catch up in it's own style (and YES 1st AND 2nd WAVE OF ADOPTERS WILL *#$%?!! in this process).

There was a thread in developer.bada.com where they replied to a query regarding S8500's ram. They answered: 256mb total ram.
