When i press and hold down... morewhen you hold down the EN icon you will see 2 things.first is predictive txt and the second says qwerty keyboard.if you touch the words "qwerty keyboard" you will open the keypad menu with the options keypad,qwerty keyboard,writing full screen and writing box.the last 2 options are the hand writing recognition options

ABC Teaser, 02 Jul 2010You can't edit with Samsung and everyone knows that, please... moreHow did you get your Wave to start Powerpoint presentations? I tried like 10 different .pps files, and none of them are working on the Wave. Word, Exel, PDF, Shochwave Flash are working though, but SWF files have some audio synch problems. Maybe it's due to the flash files (either though they play fine on my PC), but I think that Wave doesn't support them well. Also it's very picky about audio/video codecs, some videos play and some don't, either though they are encoded with the same codecs. Also 5.1 sound is supported through stereo headphones, but when watching HD video with 5.1 sound - there's no sound at all (says audio codec not supported). To make things even worse, a very few PC desktop apps detect and convert 5.1 sound correctly, so I had a very bad day figuring all that out and converting all of my best videos so that Wave can play them (with simple stereo sound). Putting all that aside, it's a great phone anyway. I would buy it again.

Kies says this device firmware can not update. Is this an error?

You all seem to be a bunch of naive phone users. I bet youve never tested nor reported bugs for anything in your entire life.
Maybe if you knew how testing worked (without googling it) you may realise there is some weight behind what is said.
Again, Samsung, I urge you to increase brightness/lighting.

for those of you who can get 3 days out of the wave... which does it say on battery? made in korea/ finished in china? or just made in china?
for those of you who can read chinese... does it say made by a chinese-samsung company or sony ericsson comapny in china for samsung?

So can the users please tell me if there is a good voice guided navigation alternative to route 66 which is provided with this , heard it is not as good as other navigation apps ,
Also how are emails handled on this phone , push or pull and is the conversation threaded or not and general experiences with data entry on the virtual qwerty. Thx

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2010I came to know that we can not edit office files with samsu... moreYou can't edit with Samsung and everyone knows that, please read previous post, but why would you want to edit on the phone? this is a phone and not laptop, the fact that you can even view files like Powerpoint, Excel, etc is great itself. Please don't ask too much. It does the flash very nicely, just it doesn't cook, may be you want it to feed you as well

I've just found out that Route66 GPS license is bound to our IMEI code. But what triggers countdown for remaining days for a licence? It there some simple file copy/replace trick to start counting from 30 days again, or prolong the license for another 30 days? I guess that would be too easy, but it costs me nothing to ask that. So please someone enlighten me if he have some info regarding this. Tnx...

I have got a new Wave 1 week back, but ma battery does not go more than 2 days in nominal use, i dnt use bluetooth or wifi or gprs, just some songs and 5-6 calls and messages... Have i got a defective piece. Shd i get it replaced. Thanks in advance.

As for the Kies issues, some people here have varying degrees of success using it to connect the phone to the PC so please revisit the previous pages for relevant posts.
