Boom, 12 Oct 2010Simple Samsung made this phone because of shortage of supe... moreit's not only the screen that got downgraded, it's also the 3G... s8500 Wave has HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, whereas S8530 Wave II only has HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, so that's half the speed in a newer cell... anyone who's got the S8500 Wave (like I do) should stick to it...

Dose super clear LCD sceen and super amoled sceen are the same quality?

thius is such a worst handset. i don't know why samsung handsets are not supporting the internet settings of the service providers.........such a worst senario.....never purchase this handset as tis has apoor battery and poor audio and video coverage

Simple
Samsung made this phone because of shortage of super AMOLED screens for the Wave.
But people won't buy a new Wave with a downgraded screen, they will feel cheated.
So they make the screen bigger to compensate and present it like an improved phone (which is true for people liking big screen, but not for me. Wave is big enough).
Anyway, still a fantastic phone because Wave 1 is so great. If it is the same low price as Wave 1, will be a hit for sure

I don't understand why many people here hates the bada. I own a wave and at the same time an iphone. its true that there are some disadvantages in the bada os that i noticed comparing it to my other phone but its still new and i can see that it has future. I researched about the bada 1.2 and i think it rocks! great hardware + OS = wave!

hi all samsung wave s8500 one of the best i ever had one disadvantage it has short life battery i have to charge it three times in one day would any one till me is sam.ii has better battery.thanks

hi,
any idea with the price?, is there any update about the skype application? everybody is talking about skype here and thats one lacking from samsung. but otherwise i think it works good. hoping for the skype application and supprort from samsung... btw others are saying bada is a bad os. and why should i agree? if its the fastest os as far, the snappy and most responsive. the fastest growing os ever since it is launch. sorry haters but in my perspective it will grow faster than you think. expect the unexpected, turn on tomorrow and explore the bada "ocean" ..

This phone looks better than the previous one due to a larger screen size.
But can we expect a 4-inch Super-Amoled capacitive screen, A Physical Slide out QWERTY keyboard and most important of All - Android GINGERBREAD in this handset; in the future.
Come-on SAMSUNG you sure can do that! Take your price, I will definately buy it at any cost.
Why do you leave something or the other lacking.
I love the form factor, build & overall look of this handset, please don't change it.

Skype for android was just released so prolly it will come to bada soon or later.
Bada as new OS has almost everything.

bada in its 1st release supports multitask,copy paste,hd video recording and playback ,fast web browser with flash support,high graphics games only compared to the iphone4..............etc
these features only become available to the other OS's recently and some still lack them.
bada is capable of competing with the iphone,and android as the they are the best OS's available.
bada is capable of competing with the upcoming win 7 and meego.
samsung wave supports java with multitasking of java apps.
the only problem till now is that samsung still not allowing voip applications for bada although it is capable of run them .

I have the original wave running bada 1.2 and it has made so many improvements. T9 trace (swype) input really rocks. The browser has improved and the general touch is a lot smoother. The ram management has improved as I can run heavy graphic games together (asphalt & Bruce Lee) and no more "out of ram messages" so far. The Multitasking is improved switching between programs and apps seems pretty seamless. The camera pics seem a little more sharp when viewed on computer. I think Samsung are slowly improving the Bada OS and for an OS so young it shows great promise I just hope Samsung support the awesome hardware in these phones but so far it looks like they are slowly improving the users experience with there first update, may it last for a long time.
