bada os sucks. Why samsung trying to make a os which has no promising future. They just cant compete with android, windows, symbian or even java. All of you who r going to buy wave will regret tat u brought such stupid phone. Its like u bought latest laptop running windows98. Wat u do wit so hi-tech hardware if u cant use. Bada os doesnt support multi tasking, never possible tey wil introduce voip means skype, fring is useless even no developer is interested in bada forget skype, fring. Nothing is supported in bada. Its apps are wat samsung makes n through it to users.

Still do not understand. The Wave 2 S8530 will replace Wave 1? Or just complete the product line. Samsung seems to have problems with the production of AMOLED.

Engineer Man, 08 Oct 2010I also notice that these specs may not be legitimate. But t... moreYou mentioned the internal memory too, that isn't enough. See all the Windows 7 phone devices, the new OS can't support Memory cards, and those phones have only 8 Gb of internal memory phones. The Wave 2 can support Memory cards up to 32 Gb. The Nokia E7 has a 16 Gb of internal memory, and lacks a Memory card too.

Engineer Man, 08 Oct 2010I also notice that these specs may not be legitimate. But t... moreWell, the specs are not so awesome, but you can't say that the phone is weak. It is NOT weak, it has a big screen with a fantastic resolution. The CPU speed isn't bad. It has more Ram then any Nokia phone. It has a newer Bada version. Samsung will announce next year a MUCH better bada phone. They will announce awesome Android phones too.

i think this phone will be priced as high as the wave I at the present. this phone came out only because the shortage of the S-AMOLED. IMO, To attract new consumer they made the screen larger.

I also notice that these specs may not be legitimate. But these specs seem dissapointing for a successor to original Wave. In fact it's almost an insult on the general public & tax payer for a downgrade more than anything if these specs prove to be true. For example
Firstly. Downgrading from SAMOLED from 6mnth shortage down to S LCD not good. Next downgrade lies in the 3G modem. 3.6Mbps over a faster capable 3G Modem in the original Wave not good.
Also GPS seems to be still of a lower caliber not good. Maybe they can implement a compass guided Map program pre installed to the phones memory like HTC. Using the magnetometer which is in there.
Also what about internal memory upgrade perhaps 8GB or 16GB like Nokia are doing with extra external storage SD card. No mention of this yet.
Let's see whether this phone is any good over current phones which seem to have better tech in them sadly from Samsung.
Criticism is'nt needed from me I know, but I thought the need to add some because the phone's specs don't add up to me or really don't SPEAK TO me as a consumer - offer much new niceties. I hope I am very wrong.
It's still early & exciting & we have to wait & see the real spec sheet unveiled if their is one & hopefully marvel at some new amazing internal features. More amazing goodness.
More RAM, More CPU's, More Internal Storage memory, Faster GPU than in current Wave. Although Wave I seems to have the fastest GPU yet available. Might Wave II change all this.
Also will the stereo loudspeakers be as impressive as the Wave I. Will Samsung be splishing & splashing making more waves in the Sea we shall see.

A Short rant gladly.
I can't really see Samsung doing anthing new with the Wave II other than playing in the sand & watching the Seas roll by with their current lineup which is proving to be a mouthful for them.
They need to start getting their BADA Store rolling & plenty Apps for their phones. While they are at it, they might aswell get they'r hands out of the sand & start cheering customers up. heres how -
Getting Software fixes out & actually going about it quickly. Well they are at it. Free GPS location based services, forgive or correct me if KIES does this or not exactly. It would be nice to see original programs left untouched & functioning rather than being disabled.
What other possible benefit does the Wave II add to people. Well it adds very little on the hard technical abilities side, unless it has a faster CPU, GPU, more RAM, more internal memory. Then it would be a useful upgrade.
I'm saying in the proper useful sense of the word Useful upgrade, not worthless upgrade just for a slightly different menu key & larger display. S LCD or SAMOLED. I'm still sure SAMOLED would be better.
Wrong time to release the phone unless S LCD is proven to outperform SAMOLED. It certainly outperforms TFT LCDs. We are talking about downgradins here & cost cutting, compromises.
On the Sof side they might finally attract more dev support & get the BADA Shop rolling with more phones. But they need to not leave old new phones & customers in the dark, properly support them in the long term, not short term, & forget about them.
If BADA takes off. I could be atracted to such a device. But GPS navigation, voice guides needs to be fast, needs to be free like on my Nokia. Samsung need to clean up their act on getting firmware fixed & upto date & properly solving issues rather than making them or keeping them or leaving them unsolved for time on end.

if the price is almost the same with Nokia N8, i'll go for N8. i don't see the logic of creating another phone as substitute to bestselling Samsung Wave (original) because there is a shortage of Super AMOLED display.

Sinoop, 06 Oct 2010Plz note that Bada is not an OS...
Pls take note that you commented wrongly. Even Samsung itself declared that it's their own OS...so where in the world did you get the idea that it's not?
funny...
