Every few weeks I get so fed up of these phones I have to post. I work for Optus, never, NEVER have I seen so many of the same model phone come back. I send at least two a day to our service centre. Alllways such a wide range of problems too.

If you are thinking of purchasing this phone, DO NOT, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. I've had customers flinging the phones on the floor in frustration at having to send it away so many times.

    I have this phone for more than 7 months now and so far so good. The camera's resolution and flash is the best! MP3 sound is perfect,video calls are working as expected, internet and modem are fast enough for me to search what I need online. Also has voice and video recording.

    For those who want to buy this phone but is worried about the looks, I suggest you have it coated by clear plastic to protect the glossy look. The touch screen will be affected by the plastic but in a good way since it wont be as sensitive.

      I also thought it looked great and have found that's all it is good at. Had it repaired twice, the entire front panel and new battery, only had it for six months. It's very difficult to understand and the buttons are way too sensitive and the phone is slow to respond. Also can only use it on 2G even though it has the capacity to be used on 3G but it apparently doesn't like 3G so no video calls Please stay well clear of this phone bring back the Samsung D600 or the Samsung P510 they were real champs.         1) The paint peels off every 3 months - but if you on contract - u can take it back to have the screen fixed (manufacturing fault)

        2) Internet is very fast to use

        3) how expensive is it to connect to internet?

          Was thinking of buying this phone because of its facility to block calls and sms from particular numbers. Can anyone confirm if it actually works?

            i think this phone is really really good it has everything u want in a phone the camera is like no other its crystal clear no other camera phone can beat it its top notch camera brings images to life whether its 5 mp or 8mp its still cant beat em'.

            but the paint chipping just wrecked it but the only thing we want to make sure is that it still works like new so recommend u buy it!!! two thumbs up!!! go for it not the silver one the black one

              It seems that this phone is a nightmare to me....I bought this phone 2 months ago and its silver coated case starts to peel off...How dreadful...fancy looks type...I hope samsung company will make a product that is pure metal or pure authentic plastic without coating any elements that can cause frustrations to your product.

                I have always been a fan of samsung, but this phone has made me think otherwise!
                It has been sent back for repairs three times & as soon as it returns from the repair centre, another problem arises.
                From the obvious paint chipping, to the touch screen not working, to very poor battery life! (i mean, i need to charge the phone twice a day!) My friends have the same phone and i have seen worse problems to the screen failing, or the whole phone completely turning black and not turning back on.
                i do no advise for anybody to buy this phone.

                  when i recieve any mp3 via bluetooth it's saved automatically on the phone memory , how can i make it saved on the memory card ?!

                        sorry, is it me or does it seem not to have radio? bcoz ma frend got a samsung (but a cheaper version) and hers has radio, yet i seem to have functions that she doesnt havem but not radio. >,

                            I have just brought this phone but can't seem to download any different ring tones. Any help would be appreciated. I am in Australia and on Vodofone but can't even download the ringtones from Vodofone Live!!!

                                I'm glad that I am not the only one out there who has had the paint chipping off with careful use. Took it back to where I brought it from and they told me to be more careful!

                                      Okay, so i bought this phone about 2 weeks ago from Saudi Arabia and then brought it to Canada to use here. I bought a brand new sim card and found it did work here and i even get signal bars. So when i tried to make my first call i got an "Emergency Calls Only" message. I was so fed up. i tried again and again and restarted the phone and removed the sim, all that. still, nothing. I tried putting in my brothers sim which he uses in the Samsung e840 model and works fine with, tried it with his and still the SAME problem. SOMEONE PLEASEE HELPPP! i really do like this phone, id just like to make some calls from it! :(

                                        I got this phone because it looked like something from Star Trek and offered HSPDA. Now the HSPDA works very well.

                                        Now the not so good stuff. I have has the front cover replaced under warranty and am now in "talks" with Samsung to have it replaced and SECOND time.

                                        Touch sensitive buttons - EXTREMELY

                                        Messaging - Why when I text in words such as What, Who, Where When does the phone insist on changing these to numbers?

                                        Reception - my wife has the U600 Ultra (I would have stolen this from her but it does not have HSPDA) This has much better reception than the U700

                                        Overall - love the looks but using the phone is a constant grind and when the looks go (paint peels) you're left with a phone that is difficult to use, hard to text with and is ugly.
