Sensitive touch keys makes it too easy to select wrong thing. Only one boring Theme and minimal Message Alert selection. (any suggestions to change these?. On the plus side it looks good.

Can you listen to music on mp3 player and go to the main menu and do other stuff e.g. txt.... coz i knw that sme samsung fnes pause the track if u just exit the player..

samsung users .. FOR VIBRATE.. its usually the number sign to activate ur "vibrate" profile .. if not .. go to Setinngs > phone profiles ..

You can have MP3 songs as your MESSAGE TONE alert!!! All you need to do is is upgrade the firmware to the Asian u708 firmware, i did it on mine and it works perfectly!

Im love samsung, cause all their phones are so elegant. However my opinion has been swayed thanks to the new U700. The peeling is disgusting and makes the phone look so cheap. My phone has been in a cover since i bought it so whats the excuse. When i bought this phone i bought it based on its elegance. Samsung should have had the foresight to see this happeneing, why cut costs on something so elegant. A compltete chrome finish would have been ideal.

where did u get that firm ware that ur talking about thanks, i also need that...and one more thing i cant install any games in my phone the only thing i can install is from the wap site like smart and globe....can u help me, all the java games in the internet is useless it always says unsupported file type...i hope u dont encounter this...thanks in advance

so i was trying to find out why my blue center came off .. but instead I SEE ALL THeSE NEG comments about the u700...(i found out eventually why it came off) ive been using this phone for about a month or so now and LOVE IT LOVE IT ..its my third samsung phone.. and ive seen other samsung models from friends and family..
for the peeling issue ..
i have a clear case cause i like to toss my things in my purse and go .. i have one for my ipod as well.. so I THINK for those who are complaining so much .. u shouldve thought about it first ..before buying the phone!.. its slim and delicate looking .. obviously its not those type of phones u can just throw around.. like e900 and such those previous models by samsung
secondly for the "assigning tones" and such..
i think u guys need to upgrade your firmware (like how some people mentioned in previous comments/posts ) since i just got mine beginning of this year --my blue tooth naming section -- indicated its a samsung u708 ..that i have and not the u700..and i can assign a full mp3 song as msg/caller tones etc..
OR UNLESS.. Rogers here in canada blocks off that feature (recently) but i bought my phone unlocked from mobile604.com ..so maybe for those?.. some branding issue?..
as for that FM feature.. UHH DUH THATS WHY THEY CAME OUT WITH the u600 AS WELL.. i was actually tempted to get the u600 over u700 but i can live without that FM feature since i have my ipod .. and instead i like the u700 design concept over u600
the neg stuff i do have to say about this phone..
- no games loaded ..since it was shipped over and stuff i still havent loaded any games ..from the funclub cause im from vancouver..
BUT i called rogers and they told me i can easily set up my ROGERS internet service back on my phone (since my internet is also isnt set up for rogers even though its part of my plan) and buy games..
also the THEME setting is kinda blah unless anyone knows how to change that?.. black and ORANGE isnt my thing lol. feel free to email me ! :)!

Has anybody really TRIED to use an HCSD card with this? A 6 GB one for example. I'll get one if it works with HCSD cards (I know that it's not officially supported but there seem to be ppl using this phone with HCSD cards)

cover is peeling off after 4 months and i keep it in a phone sock. my camera doesn't work, always blurry and the sound is terrible, i was very dumb buying this phone, but it was soooo pretty

I would like to ask Jay (j.k.ell.at.hotmail.com) where in Gateway can I have my Samsung U700 gmasked. I just acquired it a week ago and I'm just worried about the "peeling" issue. But overall I think U700 is cool!!!
