i really wanted to have this phone.. i hope this is better than samsung E890 (touchscreen)..
as for my personal opinion, i love samsung more than nokia phones.. :)

I loved the samsung u700 silver until the coating started to peel around the sides of the screen and made it look cheap and ugly its a very common problem in the silver as i work in a phone shop and see several come back the phone is a fantastic phone but i would recomend the black charcoal colour as it dosnt have the coating that peels off

after using this phone for a while.
pros.
sexy phone (got the brown/black one)
not a common phone(unlike nokia's)
has a GOOD music player
cam is good (but images tend to oversaturate)
call quality is good
great screen
3g and hsdpa capable
cons.
as my friends say (becareful of the side paint in sides of the phone's screen)
touch senstive keys (too sensitive)
keypad hard to text when headset is plugged in.
battery life is so-so upto 2 days is max
no infrared (for older devide compatibility
overall it's a good phone with minor gripes.
definitely a good buy

hi,
im currently using samsung u700 but there is something i couldn't figure out which is every time i pressed on video call it will indicate "video call unavailable". why is that so?

the phone is good looking but its a disaster. its expensive and top of it all you have to buy the games. i thought samsng phones were user friendly but this one you have to technician to figure it out. i have the phone and i luv it but i will stick to my e250

hi all
I'm just considering to buy U700. I saw the real one at some exhibition just now, and its design so elegant and beautiful. The camera is damn good!
But i just read about peeling problem. Please tell me if it has any other problem
Btw i dont understand why you "so-not-into-samsung" person would buy this samsung phone, but then critizise "samsung"?

I got this mobile and basically it's very nice and elegant but one thing that i did not like about it, is that cover is peeling after a certain short time and this is really bad tho i'm very delecate user :(

I have my phone for 3 months. The colour on the face of the phone are rubbing off which is not good. The sound quality is not good either.
I have a problem to view my reject list as I have added a cellno by accident and do not know hoe to remove it from the list

the phone is very nice. there is no doubt that the phone has a gorgeous design. touch keys are not too sensitive. the camera quality is good(not too good) you can play numerous video formats. has realplayer which is really good. the speaker volume is average. is hard to slide up and down because of the sliding mechanism. has no FM radio. has 3G whic the U600 lacks. this phone is only recomended for those who are delicate and not technology freaks who want a high en phone. its has sufficient features and works like a charm ones you get used to it. I have something to say about SAMSUNG HATTERS. if you dont like the phone dont post stupit comments and just point the bad things. no company can ever make a phone which is perfect. every user has different taste. for any comments do write to me at

FOR APPLICATIONS / GAMES
I've just cut and pasted the instructions on z edge's forums seeing as I can't seem to get a link to work... thanks to the guy who translated if from a german website and to others who figured out the extra steps (see my post immediately below for what they are!)....
First you need the “Qualcomm USB” drivers and “BitPim”. Prepare the USB cable, but dont put it in!

BitPim: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitpim
a. Unpack the drivers to a folder (exp. Desktop), but don’t install it!
b. Install BitPim.
1. You must entering follow code: *#0523#
2. [9] common >> [6] USB Configuration >> [2] Qualcomm USB [*]
--> Qualcomm USB Configured.
Plz Reconnect the Cable.0
3. Now put the USB cable in the phone and Pc.
--> Windows found a new hardware.
Install the hardware manual and chose the Qualcommdriver folder.
Now go to the Hardware manger ->Modems->Qualcomm, you must know the port number.
4. Open “BitPim” and configure the software for your u700.
Phone type: Other CDMA phone
Com port: *look at step 5*(you can Browse, but chose the right one!)
And press “OK”
5. Start “BitPim”, go to the menu “View” and active “View Filesystem”.
6. Klick on “Filesystem” (left in BitPim).
Now can you see a blue folder, open the folder (press on “+”).
--> … retrieving
7. Now put the games (jar and jad files) in the follow folder “Games” (Media->Games).
8. Disconnect the USB cable from the phone.
9. Leave the Qualcomm menu and entering this code in your u700: *#6984125*#
Now are you in “Admin setting” menu.
a. Select the menu [4] Internals (Master Key: *#9072641*#)
b. Chose the menu [7] Storage settings
c. Update media database, Update Java DB and Create AX Dat File.

this u700 really nice.. its so pretty..
the only problem is when you're on call. the other options are so sensitive..
and having hard time to download some application for the phone..
can you give me some site where i download some application for this phone.. like for themes, like that..

just got my u700 5 days ago, i got a black one, itjust shouts sexyness and the cfunctionality is great just be careful of the paint in the casing the sides come off, my friends u700 just had that ncident
