defineitely NOT true.
you can change the message tones although midi files yet. someone posted before that he/she can use mp3 as message alert tone, but mine isn't. a firmware upgrade perhaps

i think its a picture of a prototype. noticed that the keypad in then picture is the same with the blue prototype previuosly shown.
try to have the housing replaced then gmask or apply soome protective film on the paint job to protect the silver coat.

it's a very sexy phone, i bought it on the 1st week it was out... i had the same problems with the sensitive buttons aswell... but got used to it..gettin' fingerprints all over it pisses me off... always have to clean it...
i still love the phone... only thing i really wish there was some way to change the silver edge... it's lost its colors...
question... anyone know why is the keypad on the screenshots different from mine?

just had this U700 3 days ago. the edge silver design is fading fast..it fades tru sweating...guys better cover it w/ film to make sure u'll have it same good as when u bought it...

you don't get it do you?? haiz..offline mode is a special feature present in some phones such as the ancient Samsung P850..it will deactivate de phone signal's with your service provider so u can use your phone for some other stuff..such as watching videos, listening to music, or like it's name-sake, utilise your phone on a plane without having to worry about disrupting the radio signal in de plane..it will also prolong playback time of music..understand? ekeke.. ^^ just wanted to find out whether dat feature is also present in the U700? if u still need clarification, visit the site below and scroll all de way down of the page.. ^^ http://my.samsungmobile.com/en/phone/phone_view/phone_feature.jsp?p_pfid_1=SGH-P850

the touch sensitive really sucks, when someone calling and u accidentally bumped it by pulling it from your pocket, then the call was cancelled
and when you used it for calls, when accidentally your face touches the sensitive keys it cancelled again

i don't know why you want to press the back button to end a call. to end a call,simply slide it down. but if that's hassle to you, you should have expected it from a slider. And if you insist of ending a call by notsliding it down, simply press the wheel button once then press the endcall button. thats it. by the way, not the back button.

I changed from my old Samsung because it the sound was getting quite dodgy. I am really disappointed with the U700. I can't get used to the touchscreen - I'll be scrolling for a phonenumbers and it will start dialing. (b nuisance). Just as frustrating is how difficult it is to end a call. You can't do it with the back button - have to close the screen. I wish I hadn't signed up for a plan - I feel really ripped off. It's definitely not an easy phone to use and the features seem very basic. Don't bother with it

erm..i'm thinking of getting tis phone..but i just need to know 1 thing..does it have offline mode? like when u go on a plane, can we still use it without interrupting the radio signals on the plane? anyone can clarify? thx. :)

good on eyes but when u touch its plastic though, prone to moisturing when your hand is sweating
darn the color really fades, the slider is not tough enough

i bought mine at SM north cybermall, deferred of course :) there's a lot of u700 there, saw a black edition there too. At one end near abenson, there's a samsung store.

1. you cannot change the icon/setting on the touchsreen.
2. mine is set to lock when calling or answering calls. i think that's default. if you make or receive calls, you'll notice that there is a "unlock" the the middle bottom end so when you press it, it will show a loudspeaker icon and end.
3. go to settings -> phone settings -> slide settings -> highlight slide down -> choose continue operation
