Why does the VIBRANT show 6.5 hrs talktime and the GALAXY S show 13.5 hrs talktime? Aren't they using the same battery? Can ANYBODY explain?

Went to T-Mo shop and looked at Vibrant. Now i understand why Steve Jobs kicked Samsung's a$$ and did not take their Super-AMODED for iP4.

The only "super" in this super-AMOLED is terrible dithering super noise. This color "dancing" and inhomogeneity annoys to sickness. It's like cheapest projection screens returned from oblivion.

This screen is not business class device. It's good for movies, pictures, games, divex. Cell's spec is good, it as a whole looks great, processor is fast, graphics is fast, camera is fast, but no flash, weak speakerphone, no notification LED, no HSPA+ , no FFC. But teens or women will be happy.

Major disadvantage is that screen is literally impossible to use for full page browsing, pixelation is terrible, DPI=233. Screen needs at least 1280x800 (DPI=377) resolution to be usable. Right now - no comparison to EVO, HD2 which have the same DPI, not even mentioning iP4 with its 330. Clearly the phone was initially intended to use 4.3" screen, to much plastic around, but it would fail even at 3.5".

And who needs such wide angle - this is just waste of battery life irradiating a half of space ( 2*pi )!!!

Sorry guys, it's so pity, but this Puper-AMOLED is a failure, it needs substantial improvements

Then again my Innov8 is packing an incredible 8mp camera on it, it'll take on almost anything out there. That's the big reason why I got it, because I knew it wouldn't be be out done in a month. But I wouldn't go so far to say monopoly though. Samsung really makes a pretty decent effort to do an all in one thing, but they're kind of known for developing a "super phone" then 3 months later (or weeks) come out with something better. I've never been one to buy anything when on day one except for my old Ultra D900 Carbon edition, but that was the most impressive camera I'd seen back then. It's just how the game is played. Almost every developer dose it. Build something amazing wait a few months and see how it dose then relase its updated version. Sony Ericson did it with the Xperia Line up, the X10 came out 2 months after the X2. It's just how things are done.

I checked its screen in store; disappointing the small characters are fuzzy and even in solid color areas the pixels are clearly visible; TFT is far better, it is not about screen resolution it is about spaces among pixels.

I mean r... moreBoth HTC EVO and specifically iPhone made great progress with their camera picture quality recently, for example. iPhone jumped to the sky also with the HD video recording quality. For those who didn't seen ones, look at Anandtech for review, you will not believe your eyes. They've set the bar.

I've not seen Vibrant yet, but if you are saying its pic quality worse then with your older Innov8 cellphone, Samsung is clearly showing the signs that it is becoming a monopoly. Will not surprise me. When this happen all of them start copying old "tricker-meisters". Look at Sony, which if it will make one step forward in cameras or camcorders, always takes two steps back somewhere else in spec. It will lower optical or digital zoom, make unusable interface, supply worse lens kit, push you to use their memory stick etcetcetc millions possible variants. One word: monopoly.

nyor, 15 Jul 2010no need flash..i got my dslr...waiting for my new vibrant..As opposed to cellphone, you will not be wearing DSLR and even point-and-shoot camera for all occasions. If ten times more weight and space is OK for you, the phone own dimensions do not matter.

So why you need smartphone, take any dumbphone + laptop + DSLR then.
